Anatomy and HOSA students attended KU's Journeys and Destinations in Dodge City on Wednesday, October 30th. Students had the opportunity to explore careers in health fields, including physical therapy, nursing, pharmacy, EMS, radiology, lab, and medical support services!
“Each year, first grade celebrates "Pumpkin Day" on October 31! The students get numbered off so they get to be with other first grade kids and they do a rotation in each classroom. Each teacher gets to spend time with all the students in first grade and the kids get to work with other kids not in their class. They made differently shaped Spookly Pumpkins, worked together to make giant pumpkin puzzles, made a Peek a Boo Pumpkin, and filled in a 100 number chart to make a pumpkin picture.”
Reminder there is no school tomorrow, Friday, November 1st due to a teacher work day. Have a great weekend!
"This week our HMS students and staff participated in activities for Red Ribbon Week. The purpose and goal of Red Ribbon Week is to bring awareness to our students in regards to the dangers of drugs and to lead them down a path to a healthy, drug free lifestyle. We had two guest speakers this week. The first being Brad Hearon. Brad spoke of the importance of choices and how the choices kids make at a young age can have an impact on how their future unfolds. The second speaker was TJ Steers from Stevens County Sheriff's Dept. He gave a presentation to the students about the consequences of alcohol and impaired driving."
