So proud of all of our members! The officers did a great job at our awards ceremony. We had over 70 members and guests in attendance. Six of our 6th graders received membership pins, eight 7th graders the Discovery Degree, and nine 8th graders earned their Greenhand. We were also able to honor our principal Grant Javersak as an honorary member and recognize our members who competented in CDEs and LDEs throughout the year.

As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Millbrook High School's opening, it's an appropriate time to charter the Millbrook FFA Alumni and Supporters group. We are looking for alumni, families, and community partners to serve as advocates for FFA and agricultural education on local, state and national levels.

If you "believe in the future of agriculture, with a faith born not of words but of deeds," you can help in one of three ways:

Agree to be a charter member of the Millbrook FFA Alumni Chapter. All we ask is a minimum donation of $10 to go toward your membership with the National FFA Organization.

If you want to do more, we invite you to be an officer in our new alumni chapter. One of the requirements of chartering a new chapter is that we have elected officers. The time commitment will be minimal with a few meetings per year.

If membership in the charter year isn't something you can commit to at this time, will you reach out to your classmates from your time here at Millbrook, or your neighbors and community professionals who support agricultural education? Membership is not limited to FFA alumni so please ask anyone who believes that our youth need the organization that provides premier leadership, personal growth, and career success.

Please comment or message us if you are interested.

What an amazing day thanks to Grants for Growing! Twenty seven of our members spent the day at Cedar Creek and Sherando Park engaged in hands on exploration of water quality. Members preformed macroinvertebrate surveys and chemical water quality tests. It was a beautiful day to wade through chilly water and see what amazing critters thrive in our local waters. We ended our day at Sherando Park where we used our new Enviroscape model to gain a better understanding of how point and non-point source pollution can affect our water and preventative measures we can take to avoid water contamination.
