Providing care after someone dies involves treating their body with dignity, respecting their wishes, and supporting those important to them and that should be of paramount importance. It was shocking and despicable to see dead bodies of twenty-two (22) people who were killed on Tuesday night in a road accident at the 27-kilometre peg along Bulawayo-Gwanda Road were stashed in an open truck that delivered their bodies to the UBH mortuary. Absolutely shocking!

The Zimbabwe Republic Police said the force was concerned with some members of the public who record video footage or photograph scenes of road traffic accidents, scenes of murder or other heinous crimes and later post the footage on social media platforms. I agree this should be a criminal offence but Police are also to blame. How and why should they stash dead bodies on an open truck one on top of the other exposing them to the public? The bodies were not placed in body bags but were packed like sardines on the back of a truck, images that surfaced on social media platforms show. Police couldn't even supply temporary coffins, sad.

It should be a must to ensure dignity for the deceased while protecting and being sensitive especially to their families and relatives who see images of their dead loved ones circulating on social media. Police should be mindful, understand ethical and sociocultural issues which arise at all stages of body management, notification, retrieving, identification, storage and burial of dead bodies. I understand the Police are under-resourced and overlooked in their duties BUT when so many people are dying through accidents in our roads in Zimbabwe, it's time for the parent ministry and the government to do the right thing and equip Police with body bags.

The body bags should maintain the final dignity of the dead and never let the dead appear to be carried like pumpkins. The body bags allow for a more dignified and respectful way of holding the body. Police in Zimbabwe are making a passionate plea to the public to refrain from recording scenes of fatal road traffic accidents and dead bodies. Police should also arrest the person who took pictures of the dead bodies in a truck at UBH. The photographer is easy to get, it can be either the truck driver or the police accompanying the bodies. Arrest them to help send a strong message to all those who take photos of accident victims just to share them on social media. May the souls of all the departed rest in peace

We couldn't give football match report yesterday because of the 2023 Rugby World Cup Final where South Africa's Springboks defended the cup they won in Japan in 2019 this time beating New Zealand 12-11 in France. Well done Mabhokobhoko

It's been a great weekend for the sports people. Besides rugby results, The People's Team, the mighty Arsenal rested key players and fielded their B team and it clobbered Sheffield United 5 nil at the home of football Emirates Stadium. Sheffield United players had no answer to Arsenal’s movement and precision especially in the second half. Our youngsters are a joy to watch and good coaches around the world are advised to use tapes of Arsenal games to train their teams. It can help their players to know and understand how the game should be played.

Manchester United oh dear oh dear! We can argue about whether it's game against City was a humiliation or demolition, but it was certainly a harsh lesson in the art of football. Manure offered a grand total of nothing. This was the mis-match derby. This was the exodus derby. This was freedom versus fear. This was men against boys. This was an embarrassment of the highest proportion; an epic failure and it boggles mind how this team is playing in the Premiership. It looks like it will be battling for survival with the likes of Bournemouth, Sheffield United, Luton fighting to avoid relegation come end of the season.

Manchester United resemble a team reaching the end of a cycle, not one still rebuilding under a relatively new flopping manager. Despite winning their last three games, the football is stale and the symptoms of regression are visible, there is a lack of style and panache. United are in an unfulfilling holding pattern, seeking to eke out results and get by before their next refresh. It is a measure of their faltering progress that they hosted another Manchester derby with trepidation rather than expectation.

Let's not forget Ten Hugs has signed 16 players at a cost of £400 million since July, 2022. By any measure and no matter how unpopular the club’s owners that is enough for a manager to radically redesign a team. Today the Arabs toyed around with this crumbling team stringing 56 passes before their 3rd goal, absolutely shocking and disgraceful from the Glazers team. How can you lose 3 nil at home and your Goalkeeper Onana becomes man of the match? It shows it was one hell of a one-sided affair. If not for Onana with the help of hated Maguire, City would have won by over 10 goals. That's how bad Manure were today. The 2 Man U's current best players Onana and Maguire should look for better teams and seek transfer now before they go off form again and fail to attract buyers.

As for Nottingham Forest, they were are awful today and they let a poor Liverpool team win convincingly. Another VAR performance victory by Liverpool, no doubt about that. Undoubtedly VAR was Liverpool's star player once more. VAR will go down as one of Liverpool's GOAT signings ever worse after Klopp bullied the referees after Spurs game. I don't see Liverpool challenging their superior rivals Arsenal and Man City for the PL title anytime soon. So let's not even think of them.

The little London team in Blue celebrated as if they had won the league when they drew against Arsenal last week. They were back to factory settings against minnows Brentford and were hammered 2 nil at Stamford Bridge. It's now just one league win in 13 on their own patch and that against newly promoted Luton, a run going back to March, and three throughout the whole of 2023. It's time for Chelsea and Manchester United fans to take it easy on football, probably stay away and relax at home and ignore TV. Let's save lives guys

Cowdray Park Murder: Drama as family of the late Simosenkosi Sibanda demands dowry from the killer Dingani's family. Relatives of the family who came all the way from St Lukes, Lupane sent by Simo's family are demanding US$100 to open talks with the family of the accused, "isivulamlomo", then US$300 or a cow for her family to know them, "ukangaziwe" and 4 herd of cattle as "ilobolo" dowry. They dropped this (attached) paper with their demands and left without agreeing to talk. They said when the payment is done, that's when they will accept the body of the deceased. They also want the family of the accused to be responsible for the funeral costs and pay all expenses towards transportation of the body from Bulawayo to Lupane for burial.

This page connected the two families on Sunday with the hope that the 2 parties will work together and find an amicable solution. Mr Phineas Sibanda the father of Dingani who is accused of killing Simosenkosi said he is shocked and disappointed by Simo's family. He said he is very 'poor" and can't afford to pay for anything as he is struggling to make ends meet. Mr Sibanda sent members of his church from Guta Ramwari to speak to the representatives of the deceased but the family is having non of it so they refused to speak to them.

This page has since established that the late Simosenkosi had 4 children, the last being 8 months old. The first 2 children are from a different man, the 3rd born also from a another man together with the 8 month old and the 3 live with their grandparents, Simosenkosi's parents in Lupane. Simo's family refused to take the 8 month old baby and told Mr Phineas Sibanda to look for its father who they believe is somewhere in Plumtree. Sibanda said he doesn't even know where to start as they don't have the name or surname of the Baby's father. Where and how do they search for him. The sad thing is that they forget that this is their granddaughter. The little baby is innocent. This page is making efforts to look for the Baby's father but we are frustrated as we don't have a name or surname. Simosenkosi didn't have a mobile phone and her family is saying they don't know the father of the baby and have never met him.

What puzzles Mr Sibanda is that, his son came recently with the young woman to live with him and was never married but the 2 were cohabiting. When he asked his son who the woman in the house was, Dingani would tell him she was a friend and that the baby was not his. When Sibanda tried to tell them to move out and find their own place, Dingani threatened to beat him up. Sibanda said he doesn't understand why he should pay for ilobolo, kangaziwe, isivulamlomo etc when his son was not married to Simosenkosi and had no control over their affair. Dingani is 32 years old and has worked as an artisanal miner for years and is known for being violent especially after taking alcohol and drugs. He met Simosenkosi in Benice area sometime in July. Dingani remains in custody for violently killing Simosenkosi on Friday night. He was arrested on Saturday night at Mac's garage, Bulawayo trying to flee to South Africa

Warning, posted as received

*Notice to all*

Dear all,
We have all noticed recently that the heat of the day and the night is unbearably high. According to experts, this is due to heat waves resulting from the emission of greenhouse gases. The Meteorological Agency is warning us to prepare for warmer days and nights. This preparation will require smart adaptation strategies and participation in climate change resilient practices to cope with the damage caused.
Common effects of heat waves on humans are dehydration which can lead to unconsciousness or death, chickenpox, heat rash, and psychological stress.
In order to cope with the current climatic conditions, the experts advised to:

1. Drink more water to stay hydrated.
2. Keep a water bottle with us to remind us to take water.
3. Avoid alcoholic and caffeinated drinks during this time.
4. Reduce the consumption of foods high in protein (eg red meats) as they increase metabolic heat.
5. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables which are better options.
6. Monitor our blood pressure to make sure we are within the normal range.
7. Stay indoors (in our home or office) between noon and 3 pm each day as much as possible.
8. Take cold water baths before going to bed at night.

Let us therefore strive to comply with it because our life depends on it.
Let's be kind to share the information with everyone we know.

Its time for Highlanders Executive to take leadership and stop the rot happening at PSL once and for all for the sake of football. Dynamos and Highlanders are the brains behind the formation of PSL, they created this project running away from Zifa suppression, persecution and ill-treatment. They formed the league to empower clubs, creating a semi-professional league and pushing clubs to be self-sustaining. Almost all the clubs except for Caps United were not there when the 2 giants muted a plan to create this project. Some got promoted and relegated, but the 3 giants have remained solid.

It's so sad, the baby they produced is now tormenting the 2 biggest clubs in Zimbabwe, worse Highlanders which has constantly faced numerous fines, severe bans and treated unfairly. Bosso is the cash cow of the PSL, Zifa, SRC, Police and other teams in the league and they are not even given the respect they deserve. Just recently they were away to Dynamos at Barbourfields Stadium where the match was abandoned before half time Dynamos leading 2 nil. The match had to be called off prematurely after a group of fans from both teams rained missiles and then stormed the pitch, forcing referee Allan Bhasvi and match commissioner Thomas Kusosa to shelve the match just moments before the half time break. Highlanders' fans felt hard done by the referee Bhasvi who denied their team a penalty after Mackinnon Mushore fell under challenge from goal scorer Madera. Bosso apologised for the sad incidents in a statement a day later.

PSL disciplinary committee has just fined Dynamos $3000 for crowd trouble as it was the home team and responsible for policing the game. The PSL DC then descended heavily on Highlanders vice-captain Peter Muduhwa with a sterner punishment ordering him to pay a fine of US$500 and suspended him for four games after he was also served with the summons for breaching the regulations. But which regulations?

They allege that from the referee's report Muduhwa incited fans to cause trouble during the game. It's not clear how? Muduhwa was never seen being served with a yellow or red card for the offence as it is suppose to be the case when something of that sort happens. Its in the referees' rule book. Why and how the referee would decide to put such allegations in his report without addressing them to the player during the game or after abandonment of the game leaves football fans shocked in disbelief. Authorities in Zim football especially PSL have been so inconsistent in their operations. It's clear Highlanders is being targeted and they are working their socks off to make sure Bosso doesn't win the league. The decisions on anything involving Highlanders is acted upon in lightning speed and judgement predetermined. Everyone now knows whatever case the outcome is a GUILTY verdict for Bosso. Let's look at a few scenarios about these embarrassing inconsistencies in the PSL

1.Few seasons back

Chicken Inn vs Caps Utd

Ref was manhandled, Chicken in players and officials manhandled by Caps players. Police docket opened and Caps players came all the way to pay fines at ZRP Mzilikazi.

Football Verdict Zero punishment

Probably reason- PSL president owns Caps

2. In 2023 Chicken Inn vs Byo Chiefs

Ref Baswi

Chiefs Goalkeeper manhandles ref

Verdict-Zero

3. Bosso match
Peter Muduwa red carded by ref Baswi. Card rescinded after bosso players showed ref Peter was not involved.

*Clearly Baswi the person has beef with Peter the person, outside their football duties*

And PSL has been used to fight Baswi personal vendettas

4. Dynamos vs Caps 2023, BF
Dembare players shove referees, fans tear up goalnets

Verdict Zero

Reason its Harare teams anyway away from Harare.

Caps United came under the spotlight after a number of their supporters turned hooligan and attacked match referee Jimmy Makwanda at the end of the 1-1 draw with the visiting Simba Bhora in May this year.

Makwanda left the pitch with a heavily bandaged head after he was hit by a missile from the terraces. The referee had to scamper for safety using an alternative exit as the unruly mob of Makepekepe fans that had invaded the pitch circled him and was baying for his blood

Verdict-Zero

For how long will Bosso play in such a skewed league, where conditions are not even. Highlanders should refuse to play any games from now on until this is sorted out. Dynamos as well should also refuse to play until PSL treats all teams equal. By the way PSL has no executive, its just a Chairman ( Caps United Owner) and his vice chairman running Premier Soccer League in Zimbabwe. This is not good for football

High flying Arsenal are the only giants of English Premiership which were triumphant today. It was a classic, solid and steady performance by The People's Team on their 4 nil victory away at Bournemouth. Great win, exceptionally good and very professional performance by the boys. The gesture signified what this Gunners side have become, a totality of all its parts. Once again, the boys showed the merits of passing, control, movement, pace, and confidence. They are just a marvel to watch.

There was fire and fury at Molineux as the Arabs' perfect record went up in smoke. They were totally outclassed, ripped, and chewed by hungry Wolves. Man City's overrated bunch of cloggers who rely mainly on the love of referees ran like headless chickens throughout the game. Their giraffe player Erling Haaland barely touched the round thing and these plastic champions looked uncharacteristically limp. They deserved to lose big time and should brace for more losses this season.

Liverpool oh dear Scoucers, the roughest and violent football team around. Terrible, horrible, shambolic, pathetic, embarrassing, rubbish football they played at Spurs. There are a lot of words floating in my mind to describe Liverpool’s performance at Tottenham, but these are just the ones that can be repeated. In truth Liverpool are the old Stoke Team (under Pulis) in disguised. In recent years l have never seen a team so physical and rough like this Klopp the Flop team. Every game there is a red card, which is a clear sign its a team in decline like Manchester United.

Manchester United better known as Manure, ladies and gentlemen, put your hands over your eyes, just as many fans did while watching this hapless bunch choking at home to Crystal Palace. It's the Premier League's worst start for this suffering team now languishing in the midtable with high chances of getting relegated this season. It may be too early to panic just yet, but for Manure to take away Captain Maguire’s armband is the trigger of suffering a seriously stuttering start.

There were fragments of optimism from their fans after defeating Crystal Palace in the mickey mouse tin tin Chinese Carabao Cup just 4 days ago not knowing Palace would vandalise them today in the same venue for all important 3 points. Shambolic Man U defeat a new low for miserable Glazers' team. As always, a great summary of their performance, like so many this season was feeble and overall, it was a gutless, inept performance. If l was the fan of this club, after such a listless, shambolic, poor performance I would feel annoyed, angry, vitriolic

Gogo MaNdlovu Naka Joel gone to be with the Lord. She turned 100 in June and passed on, in the early hours of this morning. This is the woman who looked after me as a young boy in Mpopoma, she was a stranger who loved giving guidance during my teenage years and she helped me to grow up to be a man l am today, respecting humanity. Gogo MaNdlovu also looked after my first son with great care and love, treating him like her own baby when his mother migrated and went overseas.

We had a wonderful grandmother, one who never really grew old. Her smile was made of sunshine and her heart was solid gold. Her eyes were as bright as shining stars, and in her cheeks fair roses you see. She was an amazing grandmother and that’s the way it will always be. To the Ndlovu, Nkala, Sibanda and Khumalo families you have lost an angel. I'm confident she will still keep an eye on all of us. Lets celebrate the life well lived. Rest In Power Gogo MaNdlovu.

Plans to tighten UK rules for foreign care workers' families.

British Home Secretary Suella Braverman is reportedly supporting plans to tighten the rules for foreign care workers bringing family members to the UK. The plans would see foreign care workers with fewer qualifications blocked from bringing dependants with them. This comes amid concern among Conservative backbenchers that they will be punished at the ballot box over record net migration figures.

The Home Secretary and Immigration minister Robert Jenrick have urged Downing Street to approve major changes to legal migration routes, including restrictions on foreign care workers bringing dependents with them. The number of health and social care visas issued by the Home Office has increased by 157% in one year, with 121,290 handed out in the 12 months to June, up from 47,194 the previous year. The changes could mirror restrictions on foreign students.

In other words, the Home Secretary is proposing to make it more difficult for foreign care workers to bring their families to the UK, especially if they have fewer qualifications. This is part of a plan to reduce legal migration ahead of the next election.

Q: What is the Home Secretary proposing?

A: The Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, is proposing to make it more difficult for foreign care workers to bring their families to the UK, especially if they have fewer qualifications. This is part of a plan to reduce legal migration ahead of the next election.

Q: Why is the Home Secretary proposing this?

A: The Home Secretary is proposing this because she believes that the current system is too generous and that it is leading to an increase in net migration.

Q: What are the changes that the Home Secretary is proposing?

A: The Home Secretary is proposing to tighten the rules for the health and care worker visa, which allows migrants to move to the UK to work in social care and bring dependants with them. She wants to block foreign care workers with fewer qualifications from bringing family members to the UK.

Q: When will the changes come into effect?

A: Please note the changes have not yet been approved by the Home Office, so it is not yet clear when they will come into effect.

Q: How will the changes affect foreign care workers and their families?

A: The changes will make it more difficult for foreign care workers to bring their families to the UK, especially if they have fewer qualifications. This could lead to some foreign care workers leaving the UK, which could have a negative impact on the social care sector.

What to do next?

Be aware of the proposed changes.

It is important to be aware of the proposed changes to the visa system and how they could affect you and your family. You can stay up-to-date on the latest news and developments by following government websites and their social media accounts.

Seek professional advice.

If you are unsure about how the proposed changes could affect you, you should seek professional advice from an immigration lawyer or advisor. They can help you to understand your rights and options

If you are thinking about bringing your family to the UK, it is important to be prepared for the possibility that the rules may change. You should make sure that you have all of the necessary documentation and that you meet all of the requirements
