Just another stay-at-home mom flipping furniture in her garage! š ļøāŗļø
Beautiful solid wood 4-drawer dresser available! Isnāt this blue absolutely gorgeous?!
While this desk was beautiful as it was originally, it just wasnāt my style. Unfortunately it wasnāt solid wood so I couldnāt stain the entire piece, but I ended up loving the gray tone contrast. Iām still deciding what to do with the hutch pieceā¦ stay tuned!
The childrenās bedroom set I recently finished and sold had an outdated desk hutch on it. I decided to switch it up a bit and use that hutch to make a kidās sized Target store toy. My daughters love Target and already have the toy cart and register- the store was all they were missing!
Honestly, I was pretty hesitant to flip this kidās bedroom set because it wasnāt solid wood and I was nervous it was going to look cheap. But once I realized the drawer fronts were all solid wood it really changed my game plan! š The veneers on the body had no hope without a paint job, but with a custom mixed stain and new hardware, these drawers make this set stunning! I used a washed version of the paint to tint the woven seat of the desk chair to get rid of the honey tone in the natural material. Not pictured, but there is also a matching twin sized bed for this set. This already has a new home and is ready for pick up!!
I was going to wait until I finished the seatbelt on this but Iām too excited!
This high chair was from one of my neighbors that used this when she was a baby over 70 years ago. It was in great shape and fully functioning so I only refinished the tray and simply cleaned up the body and used some wood oil to freshen it up. The gold feet were tarnished and nearly black so I used some Brasso and then polished with my Dremel to make them look good as new again. So much more beautiful than the giant plastic Graco one we currently use!
Furniture flipping took a slight back burner the last few weeks because weāve had a busy August full of birthdays and parties! My bestie threw me the best 30th birthday party and in the weeks leading up, I had been working on finishing my deck (although itās still not fully done!!) and building my new patio furniture to use for the party. This is how things have come together so far!
The deck still needs the majority of the lattice installed, the balusters on the stairs need to be cut, painted and attached, and the handrail needs to be added. The sofa and chairs will need to season before I can stain them in the spring!
Iāll be kicking it back into gear this week. Stay tuned š¤Ŗ
So excited to have my daughterās ābig girlā dressers done! I also discovered that pink hardware exists!!! How cute š„°
Believe it or not- this piece is actually upside down!! This was originally the top hutch to the large blue rustic buffet I refinished last month. I flipped it over, added legs, trimmed the ābacksplashā area down, and added a new solid wood top. This piece also has a fresh paint job, trim added to the wallpaper lined shelves, new hardware, and cane webbing instead of glass panels on the doors. My craziest flip (literally!) so far!!! Available for purchaseā¦ send me a message!
Saying goodbye to my baby girlās nursery furniture š Because this was in my daughterās room and she still canāt even walk, it has little to no wear! I painted it for her nearly 2 years ago to match her crib sheets and changing table, but now sheās growing and needs a larger dresser with more drawers to last her the rest of her childhood. To add more functionality, I simply sanded the drawers, stained a custom shade of muted brown, sealed them, and added new antique style hardwareā¦ now itās ready for a new home! This one is still available- message me if youāre interested!
This poor antique piece suffered a LOT of wear and tearā¦ possibly sat in the rain for years at some point. I had to fully nail each panel back together and reattach the top boards and drawer fronts. Per client request, we kept the spaces/nooks and crannies between boards. Regardless, Iād say this is a huge upgrade!
Surprise! I went with an entirely different k**b than the other 3 I was torn between š
This solid pine dresser has the most beautiful natural distressing that pulled through the stain and Iām loving it! I custom mixed this stain with a handful of colors I had to make this grayish rustic tone that complements this greige-y paint perfectly. This piece is available for sale!
This beauty sold yesterday and went to its new home š„¹ I was starting to love it more and more everyday as it sat in this spot in my home office. On to the next!!
It was probably about 12 years ago that I first restored this piece- my first ever! When I originally got it was all dark wood with tons of scratches and a broken drawer. I had sprayed the old dirty hardware a fresh silver, painted it white, and cut out the broken second drawer to create a small vanity table I could fit a chair under. I used it for years before I moved out of my parentsā house. Then it was passed around to other family members and recently, it was back up for grabs! This time I took a different route to restore it. Unfortunately, it was made with super thin veneers and the only salvageable area of wood was the very top, so this is the new result! Still trying to decide if I should keep it or sell it š
I donāt know about you but this dresser is making me want to remodel my entire house around it š
This updated, solid wood 5-drawer dresser with brushed brass hardware is available for purchase. This one is not going to last long šš»š
These flips are from last year but I had to share again because so much of my work is only on Instagram and deserves some love on FB! These were my momās outdated living room tables that I modernized while keeping some traditional charm. These sold within 48 hours of listing!
This was a giant 2-piece hutch (the top portion of the original piece is the last photo) that I have converted into 2 separate more modern pieces. This deep blue rustic buffet is the perfect pop of color against the deep walnut stained top. The original piece had artificial carvings for distressing, which I added to with the walnut shading throughout. This piece is entirely solid wood. Available to purchase- please message me if youāre interested or would like more information! Stay tuned for the top!! Spoiler: it is going to be nothing like the bottom!!!
Coffee table flip complete!
I actually am keeping this piece for myself. This was my first attempt at painting faux wood onto a damaged veneer. Veneers can warp and buckle with time and from water and spills and the only way to repair it would be to sand it down, or remove it and replace it. Unfortunately when you sand veneers, you risk sanding too deep and exposing the particle board below. The water damage spots were too deep to prevent exposing the particle board on this when sanded smooth, so paint was my only option!
I also learned that I absolutely hate chalk paint! The base is country gray chalk paint which I will never ever use again! Because of its ultra matte finish, chalk paint needs to be sealed, but sealing it wets the chalk paint and causes a chunky, streaky look in some spots. Iām tempted to start all over again, but because itās just mine itās āgood enoughā for now with 2 little kiddos running around š
What do you think?
I take custom orders! If you have a piece of furniture in your home you want updated or tried to flip something yourself and it didnāt go as planned- I can help! This dresser is a customer-owned dresser that she wanted white so she tried to chalk paint it herself. She realized she was in over her head and needed some help. I sanded the piece back down, made a few repairs, primed, and painted thoroughly before adding new hardware of her choice. Happy customers make me happy š
This little girlās bedroom set is over 50 years old and in amazing condition! It is unfortunately not fully solid wood and has a handful of pieces that are veneers, but aside from a few small dings these are absolutely beautiful, sturdy, and ready for another 50 years! This 5-piece set includes a desk, hutch/shelf, chair, and 2 dressers. Please message for more infomation if youāre interested in purchasing.
