Flora and the Fireweeds formed in Yellowknife in 2019 and is made up of Brie O’Keefe (lead vocals), Eva Paul (vocals/percussion), Kate Mansfield (vocals and whistling), Jean-Michel Hivon (bass), James Hodson (guitar) and David Dowe (drums). Their sound is characterized by sweet yet melancholy harmonies and a whimsical folk-style that points out the absurdities of life.

Come watch them perform at 1:15pm Friday July 14th at the Somba K'e Plaza presented by Field Law or 4:45pm on Saturday July 15th at the Canadian North Main Stage.

We have so many exciting things to catch up on and we've been terrible at keeping in touch.

This is partly because Flora finished baking the newest Fireweed on May 30 (a couple weeks early). Isn't she lovely?

This means we didn't get a chance to remind you that you can stream our debut album, Green Wood on ALL MAJOR PLATFORMS from June 1st.

We didn't release our second single, Sideways on June 1 either - watch for the forthcoming video.

We didn't get to tell you how EXCITED we are to play the upcoming Folk On The Rocks festival in July (and we started practicing again just 9 days after baby Fireweed joined us!).

Finally, we have amazing T-SHIRTS to debut at Folk and we can't wait to show them to you.

We hope you'll forgive us this delay due to overwhelming cuteness. We can't wait to get back to playing for you.

A big thank you to our incredible producer Carmen Braden for these fantastic behind the scenes photos of our album recording sessions.

I'll never forget our first big session happening in early May when the heat for the building had optimistically been turned off for the weekend - it was a chilly time!

You've been asking how to buy our album (well, my mum has) and now we can reveal all!

On Saturday you'll be able to download the album from our Bandcamp page - but you also have the option of buying these incredible art cards (a set of 8, each inspired by a song from the album) with a download code included.

Right now we aren't shipping outside of YK, but you can buy online and we'll arrange pick up, or you can get them locally at Juniper Health, Fishy People Down to Earth Gallery in the coming days.
