Enhance your flexibility and prevent injuries with these stretches:

Hip Flexor Stretch: Start in a lunge position with one foot forward and the other knee on the ground. Push your hips forward while keeping your back straight. Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds, then switch sides.

Hamstring Stretch: Sit on the ground with one leg extended straight and the other bent so that the sole of the foot touches the inner thigh of the straight leg. Reach towards the toes of the extended leg, keeping your back straight. Hold for 20-30 seconds, then switch sides.

Pigeon Pose: Start in a plank position then bring your right knee forward and place it near your right wrist while extending your left leg straight behind you. Lower your hips towards the ground and lean forward over your right leg. Hold for 20-30 seconds, then switch sides.

Butterfly Stretch: Sit on the floor with your feet together and knees bent out to the sides. Hold your feet with your hands and gently push your knees towards the ground using your elbows. Hold for 20-30 seconds.

Spinal Twists: Sit on the ground with your legs extended. Bend your right knee and place your foot outside of your left knee. Twist your torso to the right, placing your left elbow outside your right knee for leverage. Hold for 20-30 seconds, then switch sides.

Shoulder Stretch: Bring one arm across your body and use your opposite arm to pull it closer to your chest. Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds, then switch sides.

Quad Stretch: Stand on one leg, bend the opposite knee, and grab your ankle with your hand, pulling your heel towards your glutes. Hold for 20-30 seconds, then switch sides.

Cat-Cow Stretch: Start on all fours. Arch your back (cow pose) while inhaling, then round your back (cat pose) while exhaling. Repeat for 10-15 breaths.

Calf Stretch: Stand facing a wall, place your hands on the wall, and step one foot back, pressing the heel into the ground while keeping the leg straight. Hold for 20-30 seconds, then switch sides.

Neck Stretch: Gently tilt your head to one side, bringing your ear towards your shoulder, and hold for 20-30 seconds. Repeat on the other side.

Recently, a small group of us embarked on a fun "Keg Run" with the official Clarion MMA battle keg! For those who haven’t experienced it, this is no ordinary keg. Half-filled with water, it sloshes around, challenging our strength and teamwork. We took turns carrying it to the end of the run—sometimes solo, sometimes in rotating pairs.

This adventure wasn’t just about physical endurance. It was a fantastic team bonding experience, and we want YOU to join us next time! Whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting out, everyone is welcome.

Race Team Runs:

When: Wednesdays at 7:30 PM
Where: Meet at Clarion MMA
What to Expect:
Partner up with someone at your pace.
We have runners of all levels—from gazelles to half-dead turtles.
Distances vary based on ability and activity.
New runners are always welcome!

Last week, some members of the Clarion MMA competition team took a journey to Las Vegas to compete in the American Nationals Jiu-jitsu Tournament.

There were two different events available, one in the standard martial arts uniform (gi) and one without (no-gi).

Quinn Hoover - Silver and Silver
Brandon Mathews - Silver
Caden Kahle - Silver and Bronze
Joe Lambing - Bronze

Both Mike LeFay and Asher Mathews put forth tremendous efforts but were unable to bring home a medal this time around.

We are immensely grateful to our teammates and coaches whose dedication and hard work in preparing us for this competition were invaluable. It was an amazing opportunity for both the competitors and coaches. We were thrilled to test ourselves at such a high level and gain insights on how we can improve for future events. Thank you for your unwavering support and commitment.

When you are traveling this summer, there is a good chance there will be jiu-jitsu nearby. Pack your rolling gear and drop in for class!

We love having visitors drop into our gym, and I know others do too. Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is a unique art and sport that allows you opportunities for training with those like you, no matter where you are. BJJ also allows you access to training with the best in the world, just by showing up on a random Monday.

Imagine being on vacation and being able to drop in to practice with the Steelers or the Lakers. Really, even just being able to show up for a pickup game of hoops with strangers wherever you are would be sweet if it wasn't so intimidating to show up at the park and hope to be able to jump in.

Jiu-jitsu is different and when you are in a sport that has that kind of opportunity, please take advantage of it. You'll be glad you did!

Clarion MMA's Jiu-Jitsu Camp, held the week of June 3rd, was an exciting and exhilarating experience!
Participants immersed themselves in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, sharpening their skills through challenging drills, interactive training sessions, and exciting rolling matches. Expert instructors provided personalized guidance, culminating in a thrilling final exhibition match. The camp fostered technical growth, lasting friendships, and a strong sense of community.

The effort and enthusiasm shown by these campers made this week truly unforgettable!

This Saturday is Parent's Night Out: Ninja Night! While you enjoy some well-deserved R&R, your kids will train like true ninjas!
