This absolutely incredible young lady our lovely Miss T has grown so much confidence in the last couple of months! We couldn’t be more proud of her!! This picture here was taken just before her doing a performance with the all abilities band she is now in having been learning how to play bass guitar in the last few months at our great group run by SupPort Macquarie.

T we cannot wait to see how many more amazing things you are going to achieve because the world is you’re oyster 😊

What an incredible week away has been had with Miss T last week in the Gold Coast. From theme parks, jet boating, conquering fears and trying new foods. It was a week filled with laughs and amazing experiences! If you or someone you care for wants to plan an unforgettable experience please get in contact. Are you a passionate NRL Fan and always wanted to get to more games? Well you are sure in luck, throughout the 2022 NRL season we will be offering groups to a few of the Sunday Afternoon games at Newcastle. If you were interested in going to a game some where else please message the page to see what we can arrange for you.

What an inspiration, couldn’t be more deserving

Paralympian and disability advocate Dylan Alcott named 2022 Australian of the Year For the first time in the award's 62-year history, a person with a disability has been named Australian of the Year.

Happy 2022 everyone, hoping all of your holidays were filled with love and happiness. What a to start the year we have had here at Freedom First Support and Respite! A week away to Sydney for a first time ever experience for Miss T. The week was spent visiting all the major tourist sites, ghost tour, trying new foods and just having an all round amazing time. If you or someone you care for might be interested in a respite trip with us please feel free to message our page!!

As our 2021 year services have come to a close, Freedom First Respite wanted to say thankyou to all the families who have supported us in our starting months. We cannot wait to see what 2022 and beyond brings for us, please keep an eye out for trips and events being offered throughout the coming year. With the covid restrictions easing and now we are more able to travel freely to go and enjoy live sport. Have you or someone you care for been wanting to go watch their favourite NRL team play live?

Being a support worker who is very passionate about rugby league, there is nothing I love more than seeing participants I take to games get the experience of a live game. The NRL have released the 2022 draw so if it’s something you have been wanting to do please feel free to message me and we can sort out an amazing experience for you. Here’s an update from taking the lovely Ren away to Coffs Harbour for a nice little get away. Such a great time spent going on a trike tour with Coffs Trike Tours, Harbourside Markets and Dolphin Marine Magic. Time was also spent relaxing and watching movies!

Coffs Harbour will be a destination I will be offering in my respite service so please feel free to message if you’re interested in coming on a trip away!!

Have you or someone you care for with a disability, always wanted to go on the holiday of a lifetime or just a plain little get away?

Part of my business as Freedom First Support and Respite is to offer my services to help plan and take people with disabilities on holidays they have always dreamed of going on but have never been able too. I have a genuine passion for seeing my participants achieve these goals in life. Although major holidays are part of what I offer there is no limit with doing small getaways as well. Coming on the way out of Covid as a business I will be offering outings once a month plus additional trips if requested. These will include going to local markets on the coast, going to NRL games just to name a few. What a great addition to the pool, making it more accessible for our participants 💕

Now that the Port Macquarie Pool has reopened, we thought we’d share some good news 🙌 A few weeks ago, we installed a New Pelican Pool Hoist to provide better accessibility to the 50m pool.

The hoist has various attachments to cater for all, including either using submersible wheel chairs, fixed chair, soft sling or cradle, and fittings for a spinal board. This also means the pool operators can assist people with mobility issues or in an emergency situation ✔️

The installation was funded by Council’s Access Sub-Committee through their disability inclusion action plan budget, and is part of our works to create recreational facilities that cater for our growing population and for all ages and abilities 👍

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to jump on and introduce myself, my name is Stephanie and I am the face behind Freedom First Respite! I’m 27 and have lived in the Mid North Coast area my whole life. I have spent the last 5 years working in the disability sector but have been around it my entire life. Working with people with disabilities is my absolute passion, supporting them to achieve their goals is what makes my day. What I hope to achieve through Freedom First Respite is to offer day to day services but also day trips to things like NRL games, Markets around the area, Coffs Harbour and Forster to name a few. As well as longer extended respite holidays interstate, overseas (when we can again), cruising and other major adventures any participants have in their goals. So if you or you know anyone who might benefit or really enjoy what I will be offering please reach out!

Here some things about myself
* I love rugby league, I support the Roosters and play myself for the Kendall Blues
* I love camping and going on adventures
* I love all kinds of music and dancing
* I am absolutely obsessed with cows
