I was with some new and old Christian friends on Friday and we happened to be sharing about our experiences after living a Cursillo weekend (short course in Christianity). It struck me how God works in our lives and heals. We all have some brokenness, if not many broken pieces, that need God’s healing. With God all kinds of amazing miracles happen. What might seem impossible is possible with God.

I shared that over 24 years ago I had a prayer to reunite my Nana with her estranged brother. They had not spoken in many years. The week after my Cursillo he was in the hospital and my parents were out of town, so I spent every day visiting him in the hospital. I remember praying and plotting how could I get he and my nana together. They were both not very mobile so it seemed impossible. My great uncle went to a nursing home. Not long after, my grandmother had a medical episode and needed to go to a rehab facility. The only bed available was in the same facility as my great uncle and they were across the hall from each other. God’s plans and not mine made it happen. They were able to see each other and hold each other’s hands and reconcile. I was so delighted by God’s great work in this.

This week I had a dream about my Nana, which is rare. I saw her somewhere and I ran to her to say it was me. In my dream we were next in my grandfather’s Oldsmobile (which they had gifted me) and Nana was driving (she didn’t drive!). The car seemed decorated for a celebration. 🎉 🥳
We were driving in what seemed like Newton and rather than continue on our path we made a sharp turn and it was as if she had to bring me back and then the dream was over. But, as all the things align this week I decided that perhaps it was this impossible story I was meant to share.
