Plum Crazy Open Modified Tractor Pulling Team
Plum has 3 x 540 Big Block Chev engines with a WD9 Inter back end. Roughly 2400hp at 7000 revs.
After a few setbacks it is with great regret that plum will not be making the trek to Nyngan on the 3rd of August.
Backend is in and the cage is sitting on top
Hopefully she'll be back making noise soon
All back together and ready for one of our sponsors Stanyer Engineering Pty Ltd to sandblast and paint in the next week or two
Doing a little selector adjustment today getting closer now
Made a bit of progress on plum today going back together nicely
We had a lot of great guesses about what we are planning to do with our new MAN diff.
If you’ve followed Plum over the last 10-15 years you would’ve noticed that the big 540 Chevs have really been giving the old WD9 rear end a bit of grief and as a result we have decided to replace the rear end with the new planetary rear end.
This will prevent future breakdowns however it will also require too much modification, so we have purchased a bunch of steel and are making a new tractor, pulling the 540 Chevs out of Plum, using the cage and other bits we will need and starting from scratch. Remains of Plum Crazy will be scrapped to help fund the new tractor.
Thanks everyone for guessing and please watch this space 🙂
Even though Plum isn’t here at Quamby today, the crew is here to support the other pullers.
You may have met our commentators before as they have been here to entertain you previously. First we have Darren Bone.
