The Omicron Beta Beta chapter has a rich history in the Fort myers and surrounding areas as being upstanding citizens and noble men. Also the O.B.B.
The chapter hosts an annual Talent Hunt Program to provide exposure, encouragement and financial assistance to talented young people participating in the performing arts. Winners are awarded recognition and may be given college scholarships. chapter hosts in September an annual Health Forum to raise awareness and promote good health practices.

Seeing the need to reach out
and help the Dunbar Community, and other parts of Southwest Florida. Brothers Emmit Bryson, Floyd Gibbs, Joe Williams, Jr. Ron Henderson, Herbert V. Cambridge, Jeremiah Primus, Jr. and Ivory Scott, along with several others came together in attempt to uphold the fraternity's four cardinal principles, Manhood, Scholarship, Perserverance and Uplift, and establish a local chapter. On December 12, 1982 at Saint John First Missionary Baptist Church the Omicron Beta Beta Chapter was officially chartered with nine members. Since that time, James A. Middlebrooks, Jr, Levon Simms, Willie J. Jackson, Bennie T. Shoemaker, George Mayo, Roosevelt Lauria, Sylvester Cotton, Mack Mitchell, Rickey Rogers, and Cleveland Winn (Mighty Ten) Joined June 12, 1983 the ranks of the brothers of Omicron Beta Beta Chapter to carry on the work that Omega founding fathers established on the legendary night at Howard University in 1911. Throughout Southwest Florida, the Omicron Beta Beta Chapter, has lent its time and talent to various causes such as blood drives, food drives, the C.A.P.S.U.L.E. program, scholarship programs, purchase of a fraternity house, in addition to upholding our nationally mandated programs. (Memorial Services, Achievement Weeks, Talent Hunt, Social Actions, Reclamation, Assault On Illiteracy - AOIP, United Negro College Fund, and Scholarship). Today the obstacles are tougher, but the brothers of the Omicron Beta Beta Chapter rise to the challenge. Pooling the resources of its various members, ranging from attorneys, to educators, to engineers, to craftsmen, to businessmen, to Judges. Whenever their is a need, the brothers of Omicron Beta Beta are prepared to answer the call. Not only by helping those in need, serving as role models for youth, but by being a close knit group, displaying the qualities of true brotherhood, and teamwork.
