After almost 10 incredible years in Clerkenwell, Easton Regal Hairdressing is now closed. Due to a further rent hike this year we have sadly chosen to close the salon over being been forced out of our home.
Thank you all so much for your friendship & support. Easton Regal was a massive success and a truly amazing thing, thanks to you all ♥️

Five years ago we endured a rent hike of 35%. That was closely followed by a 40% business rates increase.
The ever increasing desire for creative staff to work part time and freelance. The lack of British protégés coming into the industry and the loss of foreign hairdressers to the UK has made life tough at times.
In 2019 there is another rent review which is an additional 65%. That is an increase of 100% in 10 years or 10% per year !
That really does work out as thousands of extra blowdries just to keep the dryers blowing.
Landlords are unregulated in the UK & can increase rents by 100%, 200%, 300% if they choose too.
We know this because they have done it to so many of our friends, neighbors & contemporaries. Forcing them to close their salons, restaurants, cafes & boutiques.
We have spoken our landlord with exhausting & expensive legal challenges but like everyone else that has tried we have failed miserably.
Greedy landlords are part of the 1% who own 99% of the worlds wealth. 100% rent hikes are completely unsustainable for a small independent business.
