Blanchet Girls Soccer Fan Videos

This is our final "Clip of the Day." We went in order, from the first game to the final playoff game, sharing one clip from each. This clip is from Blanchet's final 2017 playoff game against Oregon Episcopal. Oregon Episcopal has a powerhouse soccer program with virtually unlimited players. They are good... really good. It's not unusual for them to get double digit scores in a game. And, like in virtually all their games, Oregon Episcopal spent most of the time on Blanchet's side of the field shooting towards the goal over and over and over again. Yet by the end of the first half, they had only one goal to show for it because of the absolutely incredible and amazing job the defense did. In this clip Tessa shows that using your head means more than playing smart when it comes to defending. Even the ref gets involved after this corner kick play against Blanchet.

This clip is from the first bracketed playoff game vs Riverdale on Halloween. The final score was 1-0. Here's how the only goal of the game was scored. (Alternative Clip Name - "The Claire Show.")

Happy Thanksgiving! Today's Clip of the Day is all about defense. This is from the playoff seeding game against Western Mennonite.

"The rain is coming down here at Amity Stadium as we get set for a Blanchet corner kick. Brianna sets the ball, raises her hand, everyone is on the move... the kick is to the front of the goal and KICKED IN BY TESSA! GOOOAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!! Let's see a slow motion replay of that play..."

A nice save by Lauren results in an excellent kick that sets up Blanchet for a potential great goal if not for that pesky offsides rule...

This is a well executed goal against Salem Academy. The way the offense comes together, in sync, as they run towards the goal is a lot of fun to watch. Enjoy...

It's amazing how quickly the ball can go from one end of the field to another as happens a couple of times in this clip. Coach P drills the concept of "Win the Ball" and after doing that a couple of times in this clip, they get a shot on goal.

GOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL!

This video shows a little defense and a little offense. But what's really great about this clip is that it shows the incredible kicking power of the goalkeeper, Lauren. The 50 plus yard kicks she does instantly puts Blanchet into an offensive position over and over and over again. This game was at Taft and that's always a tough place to play because every year at least one player is injured on their turf and this year was, unfortunately, no exception.

This clip starts out with something very important to Coach P - "Win The Ball." Even though no goal is scored, this clip, from the game at Dayton, shows some good teamwork and passing.

This was a home game versus Salem Academy and Lauren, recovering from a goalkeeper injury, was in the field, wearing #20. About 30 seconds in she makes a great move to secure the ball and pass it on.

It doesn't take long to get from the defensive side to take a shot on goal in this Clip of the Day. This is from the game at Western Mennonite on September 11.
