I am a very private person and I usually don't post anything personal on my page, I use it strictly to promote Mad Margritt. So it's with great hesitation that I post the following update about something I've been dealing with lately. Earlier this year I started experiencing severe neck and shoulder pain whenever I performed. Some nights were absolutely excruciating. It also bothered me when I slept causing me to wake up every 30 minutes to an hour. I went to the doctor and they thought it was arthritis. I had two steriod shots over the course of the next few months but it didn't help so they set up an MRI. It turned out that I had a tumor in my neck right below my skull. It was pressing on my spinal cord and the doctor said it could eventually lead to blindness, loss of hearing and paralysis. I had surgery today to remove it. After a five hour surgery I'm happy to say that they were able to remove all of the tumor and there was no cancer. I can't even put into words how happy and relieved I am. Obviously there will be no Mad Margritt shows for a while but I am very optimistic that I will be back by our December 15th show at Rock N Taco. I want to thank all my amazing friends and family who have been there for me the past few months. All the prayers and support are greatly appreciated. I also want to thank my beautiful, supportive wife who has been by my side through every step of this. Gerri, I love you so much and I'm grateful that I have been blessed with more time to spend with you. I don't know how many of you reading this believe in God but I have put my trust and faith in Him and I felt Him with me throughout this entire ordeal. I am so grateful that I will have more time to spend with my wife, family and friends and I look forward to getting back on stage again soon!! Thank you all for your support and prayers, I appreciate it more than you know.
