Wow, what a superb ‘Nightmare Before Halloween’ show on Friday 13th. 🔥💀 Excellent turn-out and unbelievable vibe at Twenty One Southend. Huge thanks to CULT 13 - Goth/Punk/Industrial/Alt for putting on another fantastic alt event in Southend and inviting us to be part of it. Massive kudos to everyone who came and supported all the acts, and brought the party. And of course, it was a joy to perform with the absolutely crazy, furniture-annihilating, floor-slithering Electric Cowboy Club and the splendid Petty Phase. It was an awesome bill and you both slayed it. Thanks to Steve for the great sound.

Five from Fives record store challenge! Earlier today, Paul and Stephen were invited to the iconic Fives Records in Leigh-on-Sea to pick five awesome records to recommend to punters.
These could be records that inspired us, excited us, or had been made by artists we admire, love or are fascinated by. We were then asked to talk about our choices, and explain why we selected them. Trust us, we found some VERY cool stuff, ranging from doom, psychedelia, and post-punk, to horror soundtracks and experimental noise! It was tough narrowing our choices down to five - but at least we didn’t end up fighting over the same releases :D

We’re delighted to be back at Poco Loco in Chatham, Kent, on Saturday 5th August for the latest summer edition of Kimbofest all in aid of@ Alzheimer's Society. Great bands all day, all weekend, all styles. The last one was packed out and awesome, so privileged to be back for a great cause. Thoroughly enjoyable Saturday night Helgi's supporting DOOM monsters Wolves in Winter alongside the excellent stoner act Okay You Win. Faces completely ripped off by the barrage of sublime riffage. What can we say - exemplary performances. Thanks to Alan Hicks and Retribution Alive - Monthly London Metal Night for having us! Playing at Helgi’s is one ticked off the bullet list, as is playing a Retribution night. The fact we got to do both with 2 brilliant bands made it a very special night.

Our weekend of gigs kicks off tonight with our SOLD OUT 'Night of Psychedelic DOOM' in Southend with ADCX and Rorquals feat. Elyza. Absolutely chuffed for this show to be a sell out!
Then tomorrow, we head off to Helgi's in London for a night of debauched misery, supporting the mighty Wolves in Winter alongside the excellent Okay You Win, who are late-comers to the bill. It's part of the Retribution Alive - Monthly London Night and tickets are a mere £5! Even link in the comments.

Firstly, we’ll be heading to Southend’s Twenty One Southend on Friday 19 May to spin strange, alluring sounds from the great beyond with ADCX and Rorquals feat. Elyza of Whom By Fire. More than half £3 advance tickets have NOW SOLD, so get yours while they’re still available. Or it’s a fiver on the door.
Next up on Saturday 20 May, we’ll be descending into the darkest depths of London to support the mighty doom super-group Wolves in Winter (check out their new album, 'The Calling Quiet', it's genuinely awesome) and post-metal monsters Vandampire at Hackney’s Helgi's! Expect absinthe, skulls, fire-breathing dragons (!!), and 70s grot in the loos! This is all part of the awesome Retribution Alive - Monthly London Metal Night, which we’re honoured to a part of. Hi all, just a reminder that we have 2 great events coming up next month. Firstly, we’re playing alongside ADCX and Rorquals for a A Night of Psychedelic DOOM on Friday 19 May in Southend’s awesome arts venue Twenty One Southend. Advance tickets for this show are just £3, or £5 on the door.
Then the following night on Saturday 20 May, we’re heading into London to play one of our favourite venues, the occult rock bar Helgi's in Hackney, as part of the brilliant Retribution Alive - Monthly London Metal Night. We’ll be supporting the excellent Wolves in Winter and Vandampire for a night of ear-bashing terror and dismal doom. We’re really excited. Introducing… Dan Elford
We’re excited to introduce you to our new drummer, Dan Elford. Dan joined us last summer and has been working feverishly with us on new material ever since. He’s an exceptional player, who has made a big impact on both our sound and artistic vision.
Dan can also be found playing drums in established London metal act Arcane Militia, who we recommend very highly.
Although his influences and tastes are broad, Dan’s favourite bands include Tool, Deftones, ISIS (the band, obvs!), Oceansize, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and Zeal and Ardor.
We look forward to enjoying many new adventures with Dan.

Announcement: new name, new line-up, new plans!
We’re delighted to announce that we’re finally back! It’s been a while, but for some months, we’ve been busy behind the scenes. We’ve got a new member, new material, new visuals, and a bigger, more evolved sound. And to celebrate we’ve got a new name, too! We’re no longer Okuri Okami. We are In A House Of Heartbeats.
Although we’re very proud of what we did in Okuri Okami, we felt the time was right to relaunch under a new name to reflect a slightly new direction and new chapter in our journey. We played our first ‘secret gig’ in early February, which went down a storm.
You can expect more announcements in the coming months, with live shows planned, and excitingly, the recording of our debut album at the very prestigious HOLY MOUNTAIN STUDIO.
