Keep Your Smile Spooktacular This Halloween!
Halloween is creeping up on us, and we know what that means—costumes, haunted houses, and a whole lot of candy!
But before you dive headfirst into your trick-or-treat stash, make sure you keep that smile BOO-tiful while still having a good time!
Avoid the Sticky Stuff! – Gummy bears, taffy, and caramel are the real villains here! They stick to your teeth longer, giving bacteria more time to work its dark magic.
Brush Before Bed – After all the trick-or-treating fun, make sure to give your teeth a proper scrub-down before you hit the hay. A haunted mouth is never fun in the morning!
Don't Let Cavities Haunt You
Even though Halloween is all about spooky fun, cavities are one monster you don’t want hanging around.
After the candy craziness, be sure to schedule your post-Halloween check-up with us. We’ll make sure your teeth are looking sharp!
When it begins to show wear, you should replace your toothbrush. That should be about every three months. Some toothbrushes have bristles that start to change colors when they are getting worn.
If you recently had the flu, it is also a good idea to switch up your toothbrush because germs can collection on the bristles. A fresh toothbrush will help you avoid reinfection.
You can also find out more more ways to take care of your oral health in our post about preventative dental care.

Our mouths are the gateway to our bodies, and what we eat directly impacts the health of our teeth and gums. We take a look at this in a recent blog post:

If you feel anxiety when visiting the dentist, you’re not alone. Fearing the dentist is a common experience for many people. Whether it’s a bad experience as a child, the bright lights, or just the overall environment, dental visits can trigger a wave of anxiety.
If this sounds like you, sedation dentistry might be the solution you’ve been looking for. Sedation dentistry is designed to help patients relax during dental procedures.

You have been brushing your teeth for your almost your entire life (and we hope flossing, too). But when you step up to the sink, are you really brushing your teeth properly?
Are you getting your teeth as clean as they can be?
It takes at least two minutes to properly do the job. That’s right, 120 seconds! Have you ever counted or watched on a cell phone timer? Most adults and kids don’t even come close to brushing that long.

Like any other field, dentistry is continually changing and innovating. One of the big changes over the past few decades is treating cavities. Not only are there high speed drills and other equipment, but there has also been a change in the type of materials used for fillings.
Composite fillings have become the preferred choice for both dentists and patients. Unlike traditional amalgam fillings, which have been used for over a century, composite fillings offer numerous benefits that align with what patients want and what dentists recommend.
Find out some of the reasons that dentists often favor composite fillings in our new blog:
