Rise and shine! It's exercise time in Fort Lauderdale!
Rise and Shine! It's exercise time.... Monday Monday..... Back to work - back to business - back to the gym! I will be back to you all with today's workout and some helpful tips to power your journey towards better health and fitness!
Rise and shine!! it's exercise time. Well it's Friday. Today is arm day and cardio and core exercises. Starting off super setting with compound movements like straight barbell curls and heavy close grip bench for triceps, followed with isolation exercises like dumbbell curls or preacher dumbbell curls.
Back at LA Fitness this morning! It's Leg Day!!! Starting off 30 min walk on incline treadmill and stair master... Warm up all the joints! Then start off with squats... Focus on sets of 10 reps... Keep adding weight each set til the reps fall off. Then step back down in increments of 40-50 lbs for two or three more sets of 10... I Followed up with lunges and leg press! 3 sets each... SS all along with calf raises (seated or standing) then finished off SS leg extensions and leg curls 4 sets... Feeling great after - after workout snack banana oats and organic while milk....
Round two! In The Gym! Fort Lauderdale beach... My old stomping grounds... Train with the greats... On the beach! Back and biceps this evening.... Followed with 30 min cardio
Back in the gym today! Nothing fancy here. Just effective! Going to Super Set (SS) push-ups, pull ups, dips and chins... 10 sets! That's all upper body prime movers... Chest-back-biceps-triceps. In and out in under an hour! Massive pump workout - excellent cardio as well! Back to back no rest every set to failure!!! Warning - be careful! Not for the faint of heart!!!
Today is Friday! Friday is Fun day! Arms and core! SS EVERYTHING!!! "Super Set" meaning no rest back to back sets of antagonist muscles! Example biceps and triceps... + Of course I add forearms and abs into the mix... Giving plenty of time for recoup between sets of each muscle group! Compound exercises first - isolation exercises last! Combine all this and it equals a very cardiovascular resistance training routine! Avg Hr for me is 120-130 bpm for the whole hour!
Wow!!! Very motivating to see I still got it at 40 yrs old!!! This stuff called exercise really works! After a week or so of strict caloric intake and nutrient control combined with focused energy in the gym between cardiovascular exercise and resistance training I have dropped 9lbs... And can actually see my abs again this morning. Follow my physical journey here or at www.physicalEvolution.net or better yet start your own. Join the PhysicalEvolutionRevolution
Back for round two! Cardio and core... In and out 45min...
Ok... Finished up presses after a brief purge! Lol! Going to jump on calves for a few sets to recover... Then will finish off with hamstrings curls and quadricep extensions... Still in the beginning of my physical come back! So not trying to push to hard but it is just in my nature to give 110% in any endeavor I pursue! Plan on getting in and out of the gym in 1 hour always... Less is more! And always feed your body after you exercise "immediately" you have a 45 min window of opportunity that your body will soak up nutrients where you want them to go!
Feel great today! It's Leg Day! I ate a extra meal yesterday, extra protein extra vitamin C and E... BCAA's... To help recoup faster... Went to bed early! Soreness almost completely gone! Excited today!!! Going to hit it hard! But still safe! NEVER PUSH SO HARD YOU MIGHT INJURE YOURSELF!!!! Then you will really take two steps back because you won't be able to train while the injury heals!!!! Stay tuned!
Rise and shine! It's exercise time!
Here we are its Hump Day! In the gym for round 4 this week! Came in last night for 40 min cardio and 20 min stretch/core...
Sore as hell this morning! Wednesday is usually leg day, but being I am so sore I traded Thursday's Shoulder workout for Legs today! Bigger muscles need more time and nutrients to recover so I figured I would let my body catch up from Monday and Tuesday workouts....
Shoulders and Traps today! Will consist of 5 sets presses and Shrugs... Heavier every set! Then lateral raises and upright rows! Followed with 20 min intense cardio and 10 min stretching!
Ok starting out with the hard stuff! Pull ups til failure, 5 sets of whatever... Then weights... For 30 min. More back exercises and biceps... Biceps because they are s secondary muscle group to back and already pre exhausted.
TUESDAY is starting out slow - but I am here! Starting with 20 min of cardio then I should be warmed up and motivated enough to tackle some weights.
These words are so true!
Today was a slow day. Made it to the gym late - But I DID MAKE IT! Monday's are usually hard for people. Coming off a weekend of fun activities, usually around drinking and such. We will need to addresss that eventually, that was the old you or the old me. The new you or me will not partake in such activities like drinking as often. Alcohol is empty calories, and alot of them. 7 calories per gram. back on track here - today was a slow workout as I mentioned. cardio for 30 min. core for 5 min., then a quick easy upper body routine, about 30 sets... centered around compound movements like presses and pulls, curls and extensions... Chest, Back, Biceps, and Triceps. Monday check-up - revealed I did shed 3 pounds last week. (Based on a total of 12 hours of exercise - about 50/50 cardio vs weight training) Trained AM and PM Mon-Sat. - Off Sun. And So sore... The first few weeks will always be painful - but we all must go through it to get to the other side.
2016 is in full swing and what a year it will be! What have you done thus far to attain your goals and fulfill your New Year’s Resolutions? I am back on track to make life after 40 better than ever! After 35 I had experienced numerous set backs physically that made training difficult and painful. So even I (considered a fitness expert and professional by many) found myself falling into the rut almost everyone in modern society finds themselves at one point or another. Not exercising at all, not eating properly, not sleeping enough, etc... The list goes on and on. Why? Again probably for numerous reasons we think are justifiable. Usually it is all centered around work. Whether you are a business owner, employee, student, stay at home mom we all have one thing in common. Wanting to do better or wanting to be better. Why should our health, fitness and overall wellness be any different?
Eventually it will catch up to us though, if we have neglected our health and fitness for too long. Our body is our temple, our being. Without it who are you? How will you get around? How will you live? How will you communicate or interact with others? Most importantly how will you continue to do what you thought was so important to sacrifice your health and fitness in the first place? Food for thought.
Now for the call to action, if all those questions don’t spark a desire to be a better you in the new year. Here at Physical Evolution we are gearing up to take on the challenge. The challenge to take back our health and fitness. Take charge of our lives as we know them. Regardless of the things that hindered us from doing what we all know we need to do. If you haven’t started yet or if you have fallen off the wagon already, DON’T STOP. Get back on track today. There is no time like the present. Let’s do it together. Stay tuned to our page. It has been stagnant for too long. Join forces with me as we will take back our health and fitness together. If you have a friend that you love and/or family member that needs to do the same thing share this call to action with them as well. Together we will create a better you. Together you will have a network of friends that are on the same journey as you are because we know without a doubt it will enrich our lives. I will start posting how-to articles for those of you out there wanting advice or help with a specific objective. I will share photos and inspiring things that will make our resolve stronger than one can create on their own. I will plead with each and every one of you to do the same. Stay tuned! I will be revamping our website as well to create a place we can communicate and share our struggles and successes. www.PhysicalEvolution.net Like, Share, and stand by – okay jog in place!
