MY NEW OBSESSION...

I fought with anemia for years. I remember sleeping for hours and feeling no less exhausted upon rising, but I had grown accustomed to working through the fatigue without supplementing.

Truth be told, due to the mechanisms at work with anemia, I do not believe caffeine would have helped much. I do know that coffee helps now (since surgical intervention remedied the issue) and with every cup, I'm a bit more amazed with just how helpful this mommy-go juice can be.

Coffee has perked me up through many 12-hour shifts- especially the overnight ones. It's also jolted me with that last little burst of energy I needed in the evenings to complete the night time routine with my 3 boys.

I still don't really know how to order yet and I think I irritate the baristas a bit by asking what they may consider to be simple questions.

There are many lessons here that would require additional posts to adequately unpack, but I will share this one,

Be gentle with others, you don't know what they've survived. Everything doesn't show on the surface. Simple to you may just be a whole new world of unexplored possibilities to someone else.

Regardless of mask wearing in your child's school, daycare or summer camp, continue to reinforce good hygiene practices that help keep them safe.

These include:
•proper and frequent hand washing
•no sharing eating utensils, cups, etc
•covering coughs and sneezes

I've been going live on my IG biz page (Instagram.com/edwellrnconsult) discussing Child Abuse Prevention with other professionals and there has been some eye-opening information shared regarding the different types & signs of abuse and the ways we can help prevent it.

Listen, the way these boys pile into Mommy's bed every morning with pure innocence and the feeling of total safety...ALL children should have this.

Would you believe they asked to take this picture? Then they asked for breakfast. 😆 Though this delights me, it may be viewed as a burden to another parent that's under a great deal of stress.

My boys are everything to me. The reality, though, is that families with challenges feel this way about their kids too, they have just lost their way.

So, let's all take a step to become advocates for these hurting children & families by getting involved in the schools or delivering meals in our neighborhoods. Become a CASA volunteer! Anything you can do, as much or as little, will make a HUGE impact.
