Walker County experienced record housing growth in 2023. The number of new homes under construction in unincorporated Walker County last year was so robust, it actually outpaced the previous two years combined.

We had several of our students prepare for and attend the GMEA District 7 Middle School Honor Band auditions. Including Isai Bautista, Evan McRae, Max Bradford, and Jaxon Riddle. This is a rigorous audition that takes much preparation and determination! We are so proud of all of their hard work!

Congratulations to 🔹EVAN MCRAE🔹 for making it into the GMEA District 7 Middle School Honor Band!!! Evan will attend the District Honor Band event in February with other middle school musicians from across our district. They will rehearse higher level music over the course of a weekend and perform in a concert. We are so proud of Evan!!

While at Coolidge Park a few weeks ago for our Mustang Pride reward trip, these 2 young men found a wallet and immediately turned it in to a teacher. Through Facebook, we were able to track down the owner. The owner was already at the airport ready to fly back to Dallas without knowing that she had even lost her wallet! We were able to get the wallet back to her before her flight. She was so thankful that these boys made the right choice and turned in the wallet. As a thank you, the owner sent each boy a gift card. We are so proud to have these 2 young men on our team! This is what Mustang Pride is all about!

Thank you families for attending our 2023 Open House! We had an awesome turnout. We will take the Open House Scavenger Hunt until August 10th! Please send them in with your child ☺️
