In 2007, the team joined the MDR series. The first race was a disaster; after two flat tires and rolling the truck, they still managed to bring home the win. After a short season the young team had won their first race and first class championship. The following year they hoped to sweep the series. After the five race season SMT racing found themselves on the podium four times. At the end of the y
ear the team left with back to back class championships. After purchasing a new truck the team entered class 1500 in hopes of new competition and yet another class championship. After running four of the five races, SMT took home yet another class championship. In 2010, the team decided to move to SNORE and run in the 7s class. The first race, Battle at Primm,left the team with a broken truck and a fifth place finish. After skipping the Mint 400 to repair the truck, SMT racing took the field by storm with three podium finishes in the last four races. Once again the team went home with an overall class championship in 7s. Over the teams short existence they have been featured in the off-road advertiser magazine, (November 2009 pg. 19, February 2010 pg. 23, and August 2010 pg. 16). Dusty Times has taken an interest and has included SMT in multiple editions of their magazine. Along with magazine write ups the team found themselves on the front page of the Imperial Times news paper on New Year’s day 2009.
