On date night, especially an anniversary date night, we celebrate with wine…🍷

Wine is one of the things I will ask you to avoid prior to lip filler as it will increase the amount of bleeding and bruising that is likely to occur. I don’t encourage it, but sometimes circumstances trump the rules. This beauty decided the risk was worth it in her situation.💋

I had one of my beautiful clients in my office last week who had no idea I was a nurse. She didn’t realize the education or requirements that are necessary to be a qualified medical aesthetic injector in the State of Wisconsin.

I decided if she didn’t know the degree or qualifications necessary to hold for my profession, there are others that don’t as well, and that it would be valuable to share a bit of information about this . 🤍

Legally, to be an medical aesthetic injector individuals need to hold one of several professional titles, including Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA), Medical Doctor (MD), or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). These qualifications are necessary due to the intricate understanding of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and patient safety required for administering aesthetic injections. RNs, NPs, PAs, MDs, and DDSs undergo extensive education and continuing training specific to their field, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to assess patients, develop personalized treatment plans, administer injectables such as Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau or dermal fillers, and manage any potential complications. Additionally, these professionals are typically licensed or certified by their respective governing bodies, ensuring adherence to strict standards of practice and patient care. This rigorous educational background and regulatory oversight allows for us to be able to give you the safest, most up to date treatments and techniques, and help to safeguard the well-being of patients seeking aesthetic treatments.

Lip filler or Lip FlIp?

A Lip Flip is achieved by injecting TOX (Dysport, Botox, Jeuveau) into the orbicularis oris muscle (muscle around your lipssss). The orbicularis oris ultimately relaxes and allows more lip to show at rest, and when smiling. When it’s relaxed it doesn’t pull the lips up and under as strongly, resulting in more of the body of the lip to show and less gums.

Lip filler is achieved by injecting hyaluronic acid into the body of the lip. Lip filler gives actual volume, hydration and fullness to your lips.
