This is Ruud, our brand new Maureen! We played several times together with him in the last weeks and we think he's a really nice fit to The Maureens as a person and guitarplayer. He isn’t a complete stranger to us, Ruud and Wouter used to play together in the band Cool Moon.
He will make his debut on stage early this summer!

The past couple of months we've been dealing with Martijn's decision, time has come to share the news. After three albums and years of loyal service to the Maureens, he decided to call it a day and stop playing with the band.
We will miss Martijn as a person and as a musician. There’s only one Martijn Vink. His playing added a distinctive twang and style to our music. Martijn also handled the admin behind the band and was passionate about mailing out all our records. Thanks for that Martijn!
Over the next few months Martijn might play a few final shows with us. Of course you'll still enjoy his playing on our upcoming album

It’s been just about three years since we released our previous album “Something in the Air” in February 2019. Time flies…
Over these past three years times have surely changed and seemed challenging at times to say the least. A few months after the release, while we were regularly performing in the Netherlands and were organising a tour in Spain to support our release at Meritorio Records, Martijn had a severe accident he only barely survived and took a long time to recover from. By the time we were ready to play in Spain once again and had our tour dates fixed the pandemic broke out. Lockdowns and restrictions in NL/EU made performing or even rehearsals impossible. And now, while the pandemic restrictions are lifting up, war broke out right at the edge of Europe.
Still, we must and are looking at the bright side. “Something In the Air” was received well, gained us many new listeners all over the world and many great reviews. During lockdowns we wrote a lot of new songs. By adding his great vocals, guitar and keys, our new band member Ruud (who we’ll introduce here shortly) is adding more depth and dimension to our sound. And, we are looking forward to record and release our follow-up album later this year.
