I don’t talk about it very often, but I get major performance anxiety. I’ve learned to deal with it, but it took me a long time to even start performing. I had been writing songs and playing guitar for many years before I ever played them for a crowd. I will sometimes go long stretches without performing because of it. But I have learned that I love playing my songs for others.

Possibly the biggest blessing that has come out of sharing my music and performing has been the connection with others. It is an irreplaceable gift. Another thing that I have found to be a big gift of performing is that it has influenced my music and stretched me as an artist in ways I never could without an audience. It’s been awhile since I sat down and wrote a new song in just a couple of hours but I did that today (one worth sharing anyway). I know it’s partly because I’ve been playing shows lately and sitting down with my guitar more often. My new song is called One More October. It’s a little tiny bit haunting. I find this time of year very inspiring. 🍂What’s inspiring you lately?

Hello! 👋🏻
It’s been awhile. Popping in to say hi. It’s my birthday today, and honestly I’m not a huge birthday person and usually keep it to myself a bit, but I do love my birthday month. And this month I’m getting out there a little bit to perform my songs.

I will be playing the Richland Farmers Market on Friday the 15th and Friday the 29th.
I also have a show at The Emerald of Siam on Tuesday, the 19th, 6-8 pm.

Three days of vocals down
We are getting pretty close to wrapping up this record-my first full-length album and I am beyond excited to share this music with you. Stay tuned!

It has been great hanging out in Portland with the fam during Spring Break and we will all find it very hard to leave this beautiful place full of beautiful people (and dogs 🐶).

A couple days after the fact, but happy 14th wedding anniversary to this guy who deserves a huge shout out.

I wasn’t particularly excited about the idea of marriage in my younger years – having seen quite a few that didn’t seem that fun up close. But I met my best friend and changed my mind and it was the best decision I ever made. He’s endlessly supportive, fun, funny, loving and up for any adventure.

Brad is a fantastic dad, never runs out of ideas for funny drawings, supplies our family with a library’s worth of graphic novels, is an incredible cook, very talented at summing up podcasts I don’t have time to listen to, inspires many lyrics, has to be talked out of buying me a guitar if I look twice at a new one (sometimes he buys it for me anyway), the cutest cat and dog dad, a perfect travel, biking, tennis, skiing, kayaking, foodie, camping, video making, and parenting buddy and the one person I know that I’m excited to spend every single day of the rest of my life with.

One week til summer is over in this house. I’m not ready to say goodbye yet. So just reminiscing and thinking about doors.

Last day in Portland. 🥲

Our whole family loves it and it’s starting to feel like a second home when we are here.

It has treated me very well this week-
- Recorded the last songs for my new album which still have a little ways to go, but I couldn’t be more excited to share down the road.

- Got to see my favorite musician perform- (go listen to him now).
- Got to watch him with my bestie and sing to the Lumineers together along with an arena full of people (feels so good after soooo long).
- So inspired this week I’ve got more new songs cooking up.
- And the fam had fun hanging out at all our favorite Portland spots (3 hours at Powells obviously).
I hate to leave you Portland and all the seriously cool people here. But I am excited to sleep in my own bed and put set lists together. Stay tuned for shows, new music, and more musician recommendations. 😘

Back in the states and back in the studio!

Day #4. Can never express enough how grateful I am to have this truly magical dream team on my side to make this album. They are my puzzle people bringing these songs to life. I’m pretty darn excited about it. Matt Greco Joe Intile🤩Plus I get to hang with the cutest studio dogs again. It doesn’t get better.

Not heading home just yet, but already have many things to bring home with me-Including 2 (1/2 so far) new songs to be recorded next month among others and music video. France is a generous gifter.

Wrote a new song today. Paris has been a perfect inspiration. Today we went to the Île de la Cité. I was surprised to feel so emotional when I saw the breathtaking Notre Dame. We couldn’t go in because they are working on restoring it and no one is allowed. We also went to Europe’s largest flea market- Marché aux Puces de st-Ouen, full of beautiful antiques. These and many other places and sights here have made me feel so impressed with the way this city takes care of its old things. It makes me see with different eyes. It is a different mindset than where I come from. Building things made to last. Repairing what is broken. Honoring them. Things I’ve been thinking (and writing) about tonight. 🎶 What is inspiring you today?

Perfect way to start shaking the dust and the frost off of my winter hibernating. Got to see the amazing play . It’s been way too long since I went to a show and this one was perfect. Go see him if you ever get a chance- laughed so hard. Incredible songs. Magical night.

Been so busy with work, family, life, etc. music has taken too much of a back burner, but studio time is booked, songs are being written, shows are on the calendar and I’m getting excited to put music more in the forefront as summer approaches. Can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on.
