SPORTS ACADEMY PICNIC DAY & PRIZEGIVING

WHEN Monday 11 December
WHERE Here at school - Library Deck
BRING Togs, towel, a shared plate (anything goes, naughty treats are fine at this time of the year!).
TIME Block 2

It’s that time of the year to come together and wrap up our learning and experiences from 2017.
Many of our Sports Academy will be moving on up the ranks and school will close for the year, I am also moving on. So let’s finish things off in style!

Swimming, Water slide, BBQ and a share lunch for starters. We will also have a little prizegiving for all members of the Sports Academy Class.
Parents, Whanau you are warmly invited along to school also (don’t let your kids put you off!).
All you need do is sign in at the office and head to the Library area (our base for the morning). I would love to see as many parents, supporters & whanau attend as possible (bring your togs too!).

Thanks for a great year!
Kind Regards

Just wanted to let families know that I will be finishing up at Te Puke Primary School come the end of this school year. Year 5's wanting to be apart of Sports Academy in 2018 will have to wait to hear about plans moving forward. I would like to thank you all for your efforts and support of the class. My time has been great working alongside you and your children. All the best to those moving up the ranks and heading off to Intermediate - I know you will do well. Just remember to LIVE LIFE AWESOME!! Go out there and slay it in everything you do!!

REDWOOD VALLEY FUN END OF YEAR OVERNIGHT CAMP - FAMILY EVENT. I'd like to invite ALL SPORT ACADEMY FAMILIES to attend our end of year event later in TERM 4. Looking for some feedback: Spend a Friday during the school day with kids at the farm, stay 1 night (families join us as you finish your day & stay the night Friday night too) and then depart Saturday morning. OR maybe class arrives AFTER SCHOOL on a Friday with families (who stay the night) and head back Saturday. Cost is very low $5 per person. Sports Budget can cover things like food & the $5 charge for students in the class. I'm thinking very laid back, accessing the water slide, playing fun field games, spot light in the bush, tubing. Kids would be in TENTs (these would need to be sourced) and I could take the School Marquee which would be pretty handy) If Parents come it takes the pressure off our Staffing issues (it would only be me in attendance - so Parent help would be totally essential regardless of timings). We would need 1 adult to 6 students (health & safety - water, bush etc..) WHAT DO YOU THINK...

SPORTS ACADEMY UPDATE WEEK 5 TERM 2

We have had a busy term in Sports Academy, talking a lot about mental attitude, goal setting and remembering our roles around school.
The group have grown and are progressing well. At our competitive cross country this week, the Sports Academy did very well. With many gaining places in our school cluster team. Congratulations to all, however, as you set an excellent example of being Active and giving things a go.

A reminder notice should have made it’s way home - NEXT WEEK CAKE STALL ROUND 2.

We also have our PRE-SKI CAMP WHANAU HUI coming up. Wednesday 14th June. Its an important meeting and all Adults & Sports Academy need to attend in the lead up to camp. Please mark this date on your calendar.

Progress Reports are due home to you soon. I will sit and talk with each Achiever about their goals and reflections prior to the report coming home.

DID YOU KNOW WE HAVE A FACEBOOK PAGE!!! Te Puke Primary Sports Academy. Check it out, lots of reminders and cool articles are shared for you. If your child has been a bit slack about bringing notices home, I will post on FB that you can expect one home and that way you ask your Achiever to dig it out!

We really need Sports Academy fees settled. I have some big accounts that need to be paid for our camp. Accommodation & Ski Field Passes need to paid well in advance.
Invoices & AP’s form’s will be coming home with your child - the office has asked that we settle accounts ASAP.
There are also Chocolates that Achievers can organise to sell, if you’d like them to work for their fees.

10 psychological and social benefits of sport for kids 17/05/2017

I am preparing a 'values run' for SA class on Friday - I came across this. Good to know your kids are growing up well by being involved in sports.
