Pursuing my Dream

I’m sure some of you have noticed a recent increase in my photography posts, and there is a reason for that. During my summer road trip I had a revelation of sorts.

I spent the first part of my adult years trying to fit into more standard career aspirations, because that’s what adults do...right? I went to a University for Business Management and spent six years in the Army working as an Intelligence Analyst. Yet, none of that felt like it was leading me towards a career path I desired.

I’ve always had an artistic spirit. It wasn’t until after I had my daughter that I picked up photography as a hobby; and ever since I could feel the photography world pulling me further in. Recently I decided to go full throttle, and make a serious go at being a professional photographer. There is no better day then today, and I’m grateful to be in a position that allows me to start today.

I know I have tough climb ahead of me; I know it will be well worth it. If I’m going to encourage my daughter to follow her heart and chase her dreams, I think I owe it to the both of us to lead by example.
