We're all addicts aren't we? :-) It all started for me at a very young age when I used to cut up mum’s clothes to see how they had been assembled…..not a popular game! Very soon mum learned it was safer to give me old stuff to ‘investigate’ rather than wait for my inquisitiveness and curiosity to undo something she would rather keep whole. I’d create all kinds of objects, sometimes making my own v
ersion of the latest fashion I couldn’t afford to buy, often to my friends’ distress and embarrassment. :-)
The idea for Great Granny Cush came from my general interest in the period around WW2. Obviously outdated, I doubted their appeal to the majority of today's society and thought it was a shame that such beautiful craft work was to be lost forever. Reverting back to my early years I studied a few items wondering if it was possible to reinvent them to make something attractive and practical for the modern world...... and that's how it all started. My ultimate hope and intention is to create cushions and other objects that will allow amazing fabrics to be loved and appreciated once again. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
