Videos by natcakesmyday. hi, I'm Nat and I'm a self-taught baker in Toronto, ON! I've turned my hobby of watching cake videos
Tutorial video comin at ya!🎥I made many, many, many breakable hearts this past weekend and struggled a lot, but after some help and advice, I was able to get better and better!👏🏼 thank you Sharon @bakemeknots for sending that video tutorial! So now I’m sharing the technique that worked best for me! If you’ve ever made breakable hearts, if you’ve struggled with them or hope to try them out one day, then check out this video! I hope this helps☺️
WHAT YOU NEED:
✨Geometric mold (Amazon)
✨Wooden mallet (Amazon)
✨Molding wafers (I used Merckens)
✨A heat proof bowl
✨Rubber and offset spatula
STEPS⬇️
1️⃣Melt your chocolate wafers in 25 second increments until it’s smooth. Make sure it’s not too hot before you start. I did three rounds!
2️⃣Pour a generous about into the mold and then start turning your mold to spread your chocolate all around. Use your rubber spatula to help as needed. Dump excess chocolate back into bowl. Clean edges of mold.
3️⃣Pop it in the freezer for 1-2 mins to set.
4️⃣Pour your second generous amount of chocolate into the mold. Work quickly as the chocolate will set faster now! Do a full coat and use the spatula again to assist where needed. Dump the excess chocolate back into bowl. Clean edges of mold.
5️⃣Pop it in the freezer for 1 min to set.
6️⃣Now use your rubber spatula to scoop some chocolate and build along the edges of the mold to strengthen the sides.
7️⃣Use an offset spatula or knife to really smoothen those edges as this is our final coat.
8️⃣Pop in the freezer for 2 mins!
9️⃣Ready to pop this baby out!! Take your timeeee. Work your way around the entire edge of the mold and try and go as deep as you can, carefully! Once you’re feeling ready, use the technique I used in the video and pop your chocolate out.
1️⃣0️⃣SMASH IT with your mallet!
I hope this tutorial was helpful! If you give this a try, please tag me so I can check it out🤩 and if you
