We are a group in midcoast Maine (occupied Penobscot land) actively working towards relocating the skatepark.
Our immediate goal is to create a recreational space welcoming to both beginners and extreme sports enthusiasts.

Skaters: On Saturday, a long board was stolen from the Camden library sometime between 2:30-5. It has a sticker on it that says “Daddy’s”, red trucks, and multi colored wheels. Let’s get it back for Bowdy!

Virgil Abloh’s current exhibit at The Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston starts with the half pipe and continues with collaborations with Kanye and Louie Vuitton.

This sculpture takes the form of a half-pipe. Skateboarding has been a significant part of Abloh's life since his teenage years in Chicago. He described the half-pipe as an influential object for him: it straddles the space between architecture and sculpture, it brings people together, and it embodies a DIY aesthetic. Frontin' recalls the plywood and Masonite ramps that young people all across the world build for themselves to experiment, take risks, and play—Ideals central to skateboarding cluture and to Abloh's creative practice.

Over the weekend the skatepark was vandalized, along with other locations in town. The skateboarding community is vehemently opposed to any hate language or symbols. 🏳️🌈✊🏽🥰
