Balabago and Deca Pavia Campus: Class Suspended on August 30

Education Secretary and Vice President Sara Duterte has cleared out the confusion around the implementation of DepEd Order No. 21 s. 2023 where schools are directed to remove wall decorations in classrooms to be "clean, orderly and functional.”

“The order is what it is. Take out everything on the wall. Let learners focus on their studies. Classrooms and schools should be clean and functional,” Duterte said in a statement read by DepEd spokersperson Michael Poa on Monday, August 21.

“I know that President Marcos and all other former presidents, Jose Rizal, and all heroes past and present, will not at all be bothered if learners focus on their teachers, lessons, projects and assignments, “the education secretary added.

This comes after a teacher’s group on Sunday urged DepEd to be clear about what classroom decorations are “unnecessary” after its no-decor policy.
