Postpartum Care Collective
We are a resource for expecting families to find conscious postpartum caregivers to offer support af
At the Center for Sacred Window Studies, we recognize the systemic inequalities, which is why we work with people that come from these types of backgrounds. It is about doing what’s right in life. Life is about how we treat others, especially when it comes to this type of work when there is systemic inequality for indigenous people of various backgrounds. We are all indigenous because whoever lives a natural life with respect to others is considered indigenous. But at CSWS we work with the ancestors that have paved the way who came before us. Any questions related to this sensitive topic? Email us or send us a DM in our Instagram!
Pregnancy is sacred. Pregnancy is beautiful. Pregnancy is celebrated in India—it is called Godh Bharai. It is a ritual and it is different in many different parts of the country, it focusses on one aspect – celebrating motherhood and blessing the yet-to- be-born baby. In western culture, we call it the baby shower. How interesting though to see how more spiritual it is in India rather than materialistic as it is in the West. We can see the roots of the different people of race and what their ancestors valued more of when it came to celebrating the mother and baby—the beginning of life itself. Bringing this to the surface is very important when it comes to certifying people in traditional Indian postpartum care. This is a lifestyle for them. Not just a “profession.” When we look at this role as a caregiver like it is just a profession, then we won’t be solving any postpartum care issues in our community. It’s all about having deep respect for the mother and baby/newborn family.
There is a problem in America and in western countries at large. It is the impregnated youth without any traditional community birth, pregnancy, and postpartum care. How do we take care of them and nurture them? Let’s start by having more traditional birth courses in schools that we pay for online totally free of charge. Let’s not have only regular basic s*x ed classes. S*x is such a huge rite of passage within it of itself. Let’s remind the youth by teaching them the sacredness of s*x first and then the sacredness of bringing a baby into this world. The sacredness of preparing for it.
Why does the cold weather feel isolating for first-time mothers and fathers with their first child in America? It is because of the cultural lack of authentic love and celebration. The real question for this is how do we fix this problem? Yes by becoming postpartum caregivers in traditional cultural care such as Ayurveda. But it is also by actually stepping into the energy of it. That’s what’s missing. It is the cultural energy from the people that actually created the culture of Ayurvedic postpartum care.
It is autumn season here and newborn mothers during this time can feel so isolated with their baby months after giving birth. The cold can make the isolation feel much worse. The best option is to find a community that best fits all of your needs. Yes ALL of it mama! You’re a mother now. Manifest whatever care that you desire. Own it and go for it because you deserve it! ♥️✨
What is Kitchari and how can it help your client after giving birth?
Kitchari is Ayurveda’s perfect food, indicated in times of recovery as well as plain old digestive discomfort.
Kitchari can even be the centerpiece of a mono-diet or fast, as it is a simple recovery food that supplements the healing process. The healing process we are talking about is the postpartum window. A simple Kitchari cleanse can be used for 7 consecutive days after giving birth to create sacred space for optimal rejuvenation of the mind, body, and spirit.
What kinds of fruits should we consume to support ourselves during the Vata Autumn season, you might ask for yourself and for your client?
Here are amazing options to explore with in different kinds of traditional Ayurvedic recipes!
Apples (cooked)
Avocados
Bananas
Dates
Figs
Grapefruit
Grapes
Lemons
Smart + yummy nourishing breakfast food choices for Autumn 🍁Vata season:
Breakfast: cooked grains—like oatmeal, tapioca, cream of rice, and cream of wheat there are also gluten free options as well which are all perfect at this time of year.
When we have a hospital birth we invite strangers into our birthing space and this is not sacred at all. What is sacred is having only pure loving souls involved with the process. Souls that love you and trust your birthing power AND postpartum power.
The hospital food around the world is quite disgusting. It is not nourishing, it is not presented well with loving intention, and it, undoubtedly, creates aggravation within the mind, body, and soul of the mother and baby because it doesn’t have any nutrients. Both will have aggravation because the two are interconnected with each other.
Hospital food is given to mothers after giving birth to their child. After experiencing a massive shift within their body, soul, and mind. This food is not nourishing and does not help at all with preventing postnatal maternal illness. That is why in our program, we go on a deep dive in learning how to cook traditional + nourishing Ayurvedic postpartum dishes.
Ayurveda is a calling to use the keys within your ancient heart to open the doors to the ancient wisdom with you of conscious caregiving.
Ayurveda teaches us that prakruti is the feminine primordial wisdom. When we study the doshas of the mother and birth giver in the postpartum sacred window, we are also studying prakruti.
What does it mean for us to find our voice as Ayurvedic postpartum caregivers? It means to embody the wisdom and knowledge of the ancient Indian postpartum caregivers and share it with the families that we help.
In your professional practice, you don’t necessarily only have to utilize what we teach you in our program. You can provide sound healing as an additional ancient healing modality. Ancient sound bowl healing goes all the way back to ancient Egypt!
As a professional caregiver, you have to think of yourself as an experienced and professional chef in traditional Ayurvedic meal preparation. In the midst of cooking a meal for your client/sister/mother/parent, make sure you taste it for yourself to see if the seasoning is just right. Make sure to check again when it is done!

This is gonna be a juicy and fun convo…tune in to this frequency! ✨
When we step into our Goddess Power in the rite of passage of pregnancy, we choose truth. We choose justice for the power that comes from our womb space. This is how we prepare for postpartum bliss. It all starts in the goddess experience of the pregnancy.
The theme of protection in pregnancy. Let’s explore that. Every womban in her pregnancy feels extreme emotions and sensations of protection over her baby. This is absolutely normal. Let’s embrace her and channel her through powerful warrior archetypes like Kali Ma.
