Badda-be badda-be that's all, folks with the ornaments: wood laser-cut versions that I admit to cooing "Aww!" every time I make one. $15 each, plus $5 shipping for 1-4 ornaments. DM me for details!

The Holiday Market may be over, but I simply can't let go! I've still got that forward motion - even though I'm sitting on a sunny patio in FLA. To that end, I brought some ornaments with me since some of my lovely customers are still requesting them and my Etsy shop is temporarily closed. Just the best-sellers, hand cut from high-density foam board, coated with multiple layers of polyurethane for added strength and edged and signed on the back in gold. $25 each plus $5 shipping for 1-3 ornaments. Payable via Venmo or Zelle - DM me for yours!

There are two classic NYC places I find it hard to walk by without diving in headfirst: on East 116th Street in East Harlem and on Rivington Street on the Lower East Side. If I have to explain it, you don't deserve to live in New York! Available as coasters, Christmas ornaments, and prints at my shop at the market in Union Square, booth . Don't just crave, come get yours!

If I didn't live downtown I'd live near where I could watch this scene all day. There isn't a bad time of year to check out the , but the colors of Autumn suit me just fine. 11"x14", Liquid acrylic and Micron pen on mixed media paper. ,

For the past couple years, a gross blue tarp has been obscuring the delicious homey food served up at this local fixture - which had me maneuvering to create this commission for the couple pictured. Now, dispatched with, once again invites you to come in - or sit outside - as you tuck into your mushroom barley soup and challah. Hollah! Prints available soon - DM me for info.

On my quest to cover New York (or at least the bits I like), this is the perfect corner. You got your big signage, you got your bridge (Queenboro), New York City bus, Queens scene (specifically Long Island City), traffic lights. Everything but a water tower. Approx. 10"x20", liquid acrylic on silk. Prints available soon on my Etsy site, DM for more info!

So this morning I went for fitness walkies and decided to take a lovely bucolic route alongside a canal. A flock of egrets, muscovy duck couples, the odd green lizard, some juicy-looking iguanas, and me. It was then that I realized that's EXACTLY how alligators get their dinner on in Florida.

I'm in wet and rainy Florida (that's right) and so missed out on the weather adventures in NY...sort of. However, I figured I'd publish this almost complete painting of the corner of First Avenue and 20th St during sunnier days. Does anyone know the name of these trees? The painting is 11"x14" in using liquid acrylics on silk. The original is available, and reproductions, soon! DM me for more info.

A delightful Saturday running around town with my sister Jensen was made sunnier when we ran into delightful hairstylist-to-the-stars Chuck Amos. We knew each other when I was a Style journalist and were both running around fashion circles in New York and beyond. I blow kisses in your general direction, Chuckie!

For the past 5 or so years I've enjoyed setting up my little popup shop at the corner of 9th Street and Avenue A. It's the perfect spot to catch up with friends, meet locals, greet my customers and followers and to create, like this painting on silk of the legendary Doc Holliday bar diagonally across the street. However, recently a Parks Department enforcement officer tried his best to shut me down. Now, having been around for a minute, I informed him that I was well aware of the rules - and yet he struggled to find things wrong (the width of my setup was fine, but I was 4" above the height limit). This really upset me, and I thought of quitting setting up. But what's the point of doing NYC scenes without seeing you fine folk?! So in defiance I will be back out this weekend - maybe not in the exact spot, but I will show up. And I hope, dear friends, you will too. Art wins!

Saturday with the NYC Urban Sketchers in Madison Square Park I plonked down onto the ground to capture both the fountain and gorgeous planters with a section of the Flatiron Building at the same time. Using silk painting media isn't necessarily the BEST for working outdoors: heat can block the resist applicator tip, and humidity can make the color spread. The solution: eschew perfection and work with what you've got, like Micron pigment markers and touchups with silk paints once home. Butt cramp notwithstanding, I was happy with the result.

Last night I stopped by to visit my fabulous artist and friend Delphine LeGoff at this year's .artfair.official. She creates colorful drawings of neighborhoods around the city - no wonder we get along! Her work will be up until this Sunday.

For a previous version of this painting I had a woman sitting on the bench on her laptop. For this custom version - painted from a slightly different angle - the client asked for her children playing by the bench. This was a sweet piece to work on. Painted on silk with liquid acrylics, then coated with waterproof medium. DM me for your own custom art!

I'm awfully proud of these four paintings I recently completed for a family of soon-to-be-ex Peter Cooper Villagers. As a long time Stuytown resident, I often take for granted my surroundings so it's a thrill when someone commissions you to paint places they hold dear that I normally wouldn't give a second glance. For instance, who knew there was a ballpark at Con Ed?! What are your favorite spots? I am happy to discuss commissions - DM me!

So one of the reasons why I said "yes" to a pop-up shop opportunity at is that 1. I get to meet customers and 2. the kids of said customers get all wrapped up in using my crayons (and some sketchbook sheets). Do note the plastic bags covering the very, very expensive stool, cos I ain't buying it if they dyeing it.

My situation today: Definitely NOT AI!

Photos from PJ Cobbs Arts's post 16/01/2023

I was sitting on the back porch in Florida watching ducks copulate and bemoaning the fact that my sketch pad was all the way upstairs (down here makes you fat and lazy, you know). And I didn't feel like stretching silk. I always stuck my nose up at the idea of using my phone's stylus to draw let alone take notes, but this scruffy pot of flowers needed attention beyond pruning. So ladies and gents, for the first time ever, when in Rome...(BTW my gardening-freak sister insisted on pruning while I drew - hence the dissimilarity; I assured her no-one would think her a bad plant mom...)
