🦷✨ Tuesdays Top Teeth Tips!

· Brush your teeth for two minutes, twice a day. 🪥

· Use a dry toothbrush and add your fluoride toothpaste (a smear for 0-3 year olds and a pea sized amount for 3+ year olds).

· Brush all surfaces of all of your teeth using a circular motion. This should take you around two minutes.

· Spit out the excess toothpaste, don’t rinse your mouth after brushing.

· Voila- clean teeth and fresh breath. 🙌

Here we have Mags, one of our Dental Health Support Workers, joining the Garioch Community Kitchen yesterday offering up her top tips for oral health while the children learned how to make delicious Mediterranean turkey burgers and chocolate chip cookies 🍔🍪

To keep your teeth healthy and strong be sure to keep any sugary foods and drinks to meal times only and make sure you brush your teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste. 🪥🦷

How is the first week of the school holidays going?
As usual the weather has not been the kindest. Hopefully over the next few weeks, the weather will improve and we will see some proper summer weather.
Have the "kids eaten you out of house and home" yet? Trying to ensure everyone is well fed when you are "watching the pennies" can be worrying and stressful.

Michelle, Louise and Rhona have been at Aden Country Park Mintlaw today at the “Wild About Aden” event carrying out teeth themed story and song sessions and chatting about oral health.📚🎶🦷

It was great to meet everyone who attended, the children really enjoyed the songs 😄

The team will be back again tomorrow afternoon so there’s still chance to come along.

The school summer holidays are upon us!

The summer holidays are can to be fun and carefree, but can also be a source of stress and worry for parents as they try to entertain and feed their children over the summer break.

During this cost of living crisis we have sourced some information that may be helpful for those families worried about the cost of the summer break.

This week we will post various information and links on school uniform deals, low cost or free activities and business that offer reduced cost or free meals to children during the school summer break.

🤩 OLYMPIC BINGO CARD 2024 🤩
With the Summer Olympics taking place in Paris in July and August, we are encouraging everyone to try out as many of the different Olympic sports that you can! We have included some of the sports into a Bingo Card! Why not see how many sports you can try during the summer holidays?
🥇 To achieve a gold e-certificate, have two or more lines completed!
🥈 To achieve a silver e-certificate, have one line completed!
🥉 To achieve a bronze e-certificate, you do not need to complete a line but have participated in any four activities.
Please note that a line can either be up and down or side-to-side.

ACTIVITY EXAMPLES:
🎯 Target Sports – Golf, Archery, Boccia, Bowls, Curling, Darts, Pool, Snooker, any sport where you need to aim for a target.
🏄 Water Sports – Surfing, SUP boarding, Bodyboarding, Canoeing, Kayaking, Sailing, Water Polo, any sport that takes place in the water that is not purely swimming.
We accept participation in these sports which have been played in your garden, in your home, on holiday, in the park, at our sessions, in your local pool, at the beach – anywhere! 😁

START DATE: Saturday 6th July 2024.

Here we have Tricia making her Facebook debut (🙊) on her last day working with the Childsmile team.
The team met today to wish her a farewell as she retires.

Tricia has been working in Childsmile for 14 years - very nearly since Childsmile all began 🪥🦷 lots of invaluable help and advice given out over the years 😀 and lots of toothbrushes!

Wishing her all the very best for a happy and healthy retirement 🎉

Rhona visited some of the children at Lochpots nursery today to drop off some toothbrushing packs and held a wee oral health session too 😁🥛🍓🦷

Alison and Michelle went along to the breakfast club for the Peterhead Fire Fighters Charity and had a great morning, especially with Hamish 🐾🪥✨️

The Easter breakfast club is on every morning in the school holidays at the Peterhead Community Fire Station from 10.30am - 12.30pm.

This was an informal event with different partner agencies in attendance, providing information on how they support their learners. 🤩
