Coalition Against Privatization of Electric Cooperatives (CAPECs) was born on December 21, 2021, as a peoples movement against manipulations to privatize electric cooperatives and perpetuate corporate greed and monopoly of the electric power industry.

LOOK l The people of Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro gather today (May 14) in an Ecumenical Prayer Rally to show their support for NORDECO against Davao Light's attempt to takeover its franchise area. This attempt is being manipulated through House Bill NO. 10554 which President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. had vetoed last 2022.

For the best interest of the electric consumers of the Provinces of Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro, the Coalition Against Privatization of Electric Cooperatives (CAPECs) stands firmly in opposing the move to takeover the franchise area of Northern Davao Electric Cooperative (NORDECO), Inc. by a private for-profit corporation.
