Share Istanbul Sessions @Kooperatif Istanbul
14 December 2012 Friday 21:30
At 2010 i met an instrument builder via dorkbot mail list, who informed me about SHARE sessions in New York so that i could perform in one of them. After i performed there and came back to Istanbul, I started Share sessions in a class at Bilgi University Music department (http://nwmcistanbul.tumblr.com/). Its energy is driven by the spontaneity of free improvised music. We would like to hear from you if you want to come and play with us. Please contact me [email protected] for further information. Hope to see you all there.

MUSICAL CONNECTIVITY AND NETWORKS: SHARE & DORKBOT @ ISTANBUL
As Musical Connectivity and Networks class @ Istanbul Bilgi University Music Department, we meet every week between at E1-124 Midi Lab or E4 reharsal room, Santral Istanbul, since September 29 2011. Our primary goals are to organize two audio events until the end of this term (which is end of December);SHARE (a regular open multimedia jam) and DORKBOT (people doing strange things with electricity). Through these events, we are going to build the Istanbul arch of these two networks, which are already active and well known world-wide. At our first two meetings, we made brain storming about the possible developments on the planning projects. We made quick researches and shared ideas on the subjects like alternative musics around the world, sound art, installations, concerts, workshops, festivals, associations and foundations. Ircam, Steim and EMF were among the subjects we have talked about. Wealso watched some live concerts mainly from the HighZero festival. On the 13th of october, we made our first hands on approach to the subject and arranged a jam session focusing on live sound processing. Various instruments and sound processing tools (both hardware and software) were used in this experimental session. We will keep on playing live jams since this is a productive and entertaining part of our work. We will announce our sonic experiments on the DORKBOT and SHARE events in the near future. But before that, we now have our own Soundcloud and Tumblr accounts on which we will share our jam session recordings, video and photo captures from our meetings and any otherproductive output gained from these sessions. If you want to be a part of our community and have creative ideas on new media and music in need to be shared and spread, you can easily contact us by sending an e-mail to" [email protected]"
