This is a call for all hands-on deck from our BE football community! Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Varsity football game was moved to Tuesday Halloween night as many other towns sporting events. We will be honoring a former BE grad Josh Seal as his life was taken tragically in the events in Lewiston last week. All the gate funds and 50/50 $ will be donated to his family.
We are setting up an event at halftime for kids to get candy. (more info to follow ASAP) All are encouraged to wear a costume.
Let's make this memorable for everyone and come together as a community for Josh's family!
Please come out and support any way you can. Whether it be as a fan, for the treats or helping the program in the snack shack!
Thanks to Windham HS, they will be helping any way they can as well.
Thank you,

Hello Soccer Maine Clubs,
Given that our dedicated law enforcement personnel have not yet apprehended the person responsible for the horrible tragedy in Lewiston this past week, Soccer Maine will be postponing all U9/U10 & U11 Festivals, originally scheduled for this coming weekend, to next weekend, November 4th & 5th, at their respective locations. Soccer Maine will also be postponing all Fall Classic League semi-finals, originally scheduled for this Sunday, to next Sunday, November 5th. Further information will be sent regarding a new schedule as we work to reconfirm our turf fields for U13/U14, our fields for U12s, and our scheduled referees.
There are also 35 preliminary playoff games that have not yet been played, hosted by many of you. If the perpetrator of the violence in Lewiston is apprehended in the near future, and you have field and referee access, those games may be played on the weekend or during the week with agreement from your opponent so that you may get some of those games in before next Saturday. You may also check with the teams in your bracket who may have field and referee access, and move games. If the suspect is not apprehended in the near future, no games can be scheduled this weekend or beyond, or until you hear from Soccer Maine.
So that you are aware, the MPA has announced cancellation of semi-final high school games that were scheduled for this Saturday. Their current plan is to resume playoffs on Tuesday, and it is likely that the Regional Finals will now take place on Saturday, November 4th.
Thank you for your cooperation in this difficult time for our children, families, and everyone in our communities.

Soccer Maine
The BESC family, like probably all of us, struggled to sleep last night. Instead many of us tossed and turned or laid there asking why? how? Maine is more than just a place for usâŚitâs our home. Our family.
All our love and deepest sympathy goes out to Lewiston and the surrounding communities. Like so many, we are devastated by this tragedy. Most of us know people in those communities and our prayers are with all of you. Our hearts go out to the victims, their families, and law enforcement as the continue their efforts.
It seems trivial at a time like thisâŚ.but maybe it will bring a smile to a personâs face tonight. Tonightâs winner of the $50 VISA card from Pine Point Provisions is Mark Hodgdon with the assist from his loved one Lucas. Congratulations Mark. Check in tomorrow to see who wins the next prize⌠a $40 gift certificate to Lakeside Variety.
Tell everyone you can you love them and hug your kids a lilâ longer tonight (even if they donât like it). May we all find peace and healing from this in some way.
Message from Soccer Maine
Hello Clubs,
First I want to say that on behalf of Soccer Maine, our deepest sympathies are with everyone affected by the horrible tragedy that took place in Lewiston last night. We have soccer families that have been directly affected, and much of Maine is currently locked down with schools closed. The suspect has not been caught at this time, and we at Soccer Maine have discussed a contingency plan for this coming weekend. We are waiting until tomorrow afternoon to make a final decision regarding our games for this weekend. If the suspect is still at large, all Soccer Maine playoff games, semifinals and Festivals will be postponed to the following weekend - November 4th and 5th, with Finals on the 12th.
We have 35 preliminary playoff games still to be played and 24 semi-finals, along with nearly 300 Festival games, so we realize that it will be no easy task to move these games to a new weekend. We hope for news in the next 24 hours that will allow us to play this weekend.
If you are a host for games this coming weekend, I will be in touch with you. If you are not a host, please refrain from emailing me (this includes your coaches/teams) during this time. Please be patient as we continue with our contingency planning.
Thank you all.
Regards,
Shari Levesque
