If you've ever found yourself fighting between "love yourself as you are" and wanting to change your body ... Social media loves to paint things as black or white, and right now the message is that you either love your body OR you want to change it. Listen, how you want your body to look is your decision. Not your coaches, not social medias, YOURS. Some things we need to remember: 🌻 Self-love and wanting to change are not mutually exclusive 🌻 YOU get to decide what you want to do with your body Inside the coaching space, our goal is always to support humans in pursuing these goals (if they are important to them) in a way that honours their long term health + well-being. And to offer various perspectives and spark curiosity into why these goals might be important to them. Some questions we love to ask: → Why is this goal important to you? What will change if you reach this goal? → What are your core values and is this goal aligned with them? → What behaviours are required to reach said goal & do they make sense for my lifestyle? Sometimes, we may discover that the reasons we're chasing body change don't actually have anything to do with our body. (Note: this doesn't mean that we abandon healthy behaviours all together) And other times, we may decide these goals do feel aligned & that we can pursue it them a way that is sustainable + honours our well-being. And we can shift between these two camps as life changes. It's also important to recognize that there are a lot of other f**king amazing goals that you can work towards that have nothing to do with your body. Regardless of where you're at, you can absolutely work on self-love, awareness & improve your relationship with food while you're pursuing body composition change. And you may also experience body comp change while focusing heavily on well-being, self-care & healthy habits.
