London’s Fight
My name is London Griffin, I am 11 years old and I am fighting B cell, acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Still in the hospital. Counts are too low to go home or to do the bone marrow sample so we will try again next week. Hopefully we can go home in a few days. Thank you to Teresa Brown Griffin and David Griffin for coming to sit with her while I’m at work
London has clinic today!! Her labs came back ok and we are set for chemo!
Well I went home from the hospital for a day, then we came right back with London to the hospital last night. Thankfully she is doing much better, I think we just had her on too much stuff through the NG tube so we are getting a more consolidated formula that is more calories with less fluid and we will see how that goes. Hopefully we can go home again soon
Well, I came home from the hospital, now London is back in the hospital. 😫 it never ends
If it’s not one thing it’s another. London is going home today! On the downside I’m now in the hospital at UAMS bc my brain is putting pressure on my optic nerve so I’m being admitted for a spinal tap, MRI and MRV to see why I have intracranial hypertension.

Just wanted to get on here and say thank you to everyone who has helped us out. If it weren’t for you guys I don’t know what we would’ve done. I’m am completely blown away by how much all the people I know came together and helped us, even if it was someone I hadn’t seen in years. And that means the world to me. And to all my friends and family at Ouachita River I couldn’t have made it this far without you guys either. I’m beyond blessed to have a job with such caring people. I love you guys.
We got the results back for the abnormal cells. They aren’t blasts! I feel so much better now. Thank you God. So happy I’m crying. She still has a fever but we can deal with that. We will get more ct scans in the morning to see what’s going on.
Please pray for my baby. She is doing so much worse today. Fever has spiked to 103 she’s in pain, she fell last night when the nurse was helping her to the bathroom and ripple out her NG cord. They sent blood cultures to the lab for the fever and they requested more blood because the couldn’t tell what some of the cells were. God please don’t let it be more blasts.
Days like today are just hard. London had to get a nasal gastric tube so she can get some better nutrition.. please keep all the prayers coming bc my baby girl could really use them!
Well…. More bad news today. London has a pseudo cyst that has developed on her pancreas. They think it might be getting infected, we aren’t sure. So now she will be getting a broader ranger of antibiotics and we are gonna have to put a tube down her nose and through her stomach to feed her for a few weeks. So looks like we I’ll be in the hospital for a while.
Headed to do a CT scan. Will update as soon as we know something.
Well, we got some bad news today. London had a fever that spiked really high last night so she had to get put on antibiotics again. The doctor told us she has neutropenia, which means that her anc is so low that she basically doesn’t have the immune system to fight of bacteria. Besides the appendicitis they are thinking she has sores in her gut from the lack of neutrophils to fight the bacteria in her gut. So now we are going back on 100% TPN which is IV nutrition and we will have to do more tests to see what going on. All this is sort of expected with all these chemos, but not ideal. Please pray for my baby, she’s had to go through so much.
Well she definitely has pancreatitis. She can’t eat or drink anything for the next few days. Poor baby.
She’s getting her ct scan so we should have results soon.
London might have pancreatitis, so chemo is on hold for now and we will be staying at children’s for the next few days.
At children’s for a lumbar puncture, bone marrow sample, and chemo. She fell today and yesterday, the Vincristine chemo makes it hard for her to pick up her feet, and she’s been very very tired. And I know she’s gonna feel horrible after all this. Poor baby.
London cried today. She was brushing her hair and huge clumps of it were coming out. Breaks my heart for my baby to have to go through all this.
No blasts present on her last lumbar puncture!! Now we get to go back to the regular schedule of only a few a month!
At children’s getting another lumbar puncture, hopefully it will come back with no blasts present and then we will be back to our regular scheduled lumbar punctures instead of all these extras. 🤞🤞🤞
We are back at children’s getting another lumbar puncture and chemo.. I’ll post an update after we leave today. Thank you everyone for your continued prayers!!
Was headed to take the kids to school when London starts screaming, so I slam on the brakes thinking something is wrong or she’s hurt……… It was just a tiny spider. I think I almost had a heart attack. 😤😤😤
Heading childrens for another lumbar puncture and spinal chemo.
Today was the daddy daughter dance at school and London couldn’t go, so since she was a little down about it she got her hair colored purple today and then everyone at the dance surprised her with a card and balloons and a stuffed animal for her!!!! That was so sweet of you all!!!
Chemo went well but the lumbar puncture did not, they had to do it twice and still didn’t get enough for a sample but she did do her spinal chemo and both her others so that’s good. Unfortunately that means we will still have three more lumbar punctures this month. Poor baby. Her back hurts so bad all she’s done is lay down today.
London could use some prayers today. We are headed back to children’s for another lumbar puncture and her third round of chemo therapy. I will update everybody when she is done!
We got the results of her last lumbar puncture and there were no blasts present so that is great news so now we only have to have two more lumbar punctures, and if those go well then we won’t have to have those done for a while!
She’s awake and done with her lumbar puncture and she will get to go out in the atrium and see the eclipse!
Today London gets her second lumbar puncture. We are also getting our 6th blood transfusion and our 5 platelets. I will post another update after she wakes up from her lumbar puncture. Thank you everyone for your continued prayers!!
