How do you use our baits?

Rhys Williams often opts for a boilie with an Enterprise Tackle imitation pop-up Sweetcorn.

We start this week with a fine catch from our team member Rhys Williams

Rhys managed to catch this beautiful mirror carp, he used a Yellow Imitation Popup Sweetcorn on top of a yellow boilie. This combined with a small pva bag with a mixture of baits was too tempting for some carp.

Imitation casters look like the real thing. A few Imitation Casters on your hairrig or hook combined with real casters has quite an attraction.

Especially in autumn and winter, you can take advantage of this.

We start the week with a fine catch by Claus Banholtz from Denmark. Claus fished Denmark's largest lake during bad weather and managed to catch this common carp on a 24mm The Nutty Crunch Boilie topped with a Yellow Imitation Popup Sweetcorn.

Buoyant imitation Lupin Bean ideal for use as a ‘wafter’ hook bait or to tip a boilie,that is resistant to the attentions of nuisance species including Crayfish.

John Almark sent us his catch photo of a nice mirror carp. John used two Enterprise Tackle Worm Stops to secure his bait on the hook. And during a rainy day, he managed to catch this mirror carp in the middle of the day.

Frank Warwick what's your approach for autumn?

I really dont change my approach from what i use in the summer going well into Autumn. I still tend to use boilies as the hook bait usually a wafter or straight bottom bait tipped with Enterprise corn. But what I will do now the nights are getting longer is I dig out the “Niteglow corn” and tip the boilie with that and I might soak it in flavour.

The one thing I find very effective is the yellow glow in the dark maize
For some reason Enterprise dont do glow in the dark yellow sweetcorn but they do maize which is bigger but it works very well indeed and can be a very smart effective edge.

Trevor Mcdonald was fishing for carp but this strong catfish took off with his hookbait. A boilie topped off with an Imitation corn is Trevor's favorite hookbait!

Have you ever caught a catfish during a carp session?

The Pastemate was designed to alleviate the two most common problems associated with paste fishing, missing bites due to the hook point being covered, and the paste coming off during the cast.

It is basically a small rubber ball that has a stem attached to it, though which the hook point is passed.
The paste is then moulded around the ball, stem and shank of the hook, leaving the point and part of the bend exposed. The stem can easily be shortened with scissors to suit various sizes of paste bait.
