Dome among the gum trees

Well the rain came back so small tasks like cutting timber for forms was on the to-do list.

We'll be testing 4mm ply doubled up for the slab form. Fingers crossed it works.

And cutting timber for the brick forms. We have enough timber to make 3 forms.

Slab prep. Measured out the radius of the circle, dug footings and levelled the top. Covered in plastic to stop the pesky chickens from getting into it. Still have the arch entrance section to dig and prepare before the slab can be poured.

This took about 3.5 hours to do with 2 people, all by hand.

We completed the online training and have been waiting for the weather to cool down, stop raining and gather tools and materials. We're now ready and getting into it. We'll most likely be weekend builders and we can't wait for the slab!
