Dandelion Roots!

This is a plant of a hundred uses! Just to name a few, the leaves are full of vitamins and nutrients and are a great kidney tonic, the flowers are good for rheumatoid arthritis, and the roots are amazing for the liver! It helps detoxify and help it to work more efficiently, leading to more energy, better skin, and overall health.

We went out and gathered a few dandelion plants to make some delicious dandelion root coffee! We cleaned off the excess dirt, dried and roasted the roots, and ground them up. That's all you need! We mixed ours with roasted chicory and burdock roots, but plenty of people drink it on its own. It's great for you, and tastes lovely, earthy, and cozy, just like coffee should!

Turkey Tail!

This is one of the most well-studied medicinal mushrooms out there!

πŸ„ Turkey tail has demonstrated promising cancer-fighting properties, and helps prevent awful side effects caused by chemo and radiotherapy. It's especially recommended in cases of lung, gastric, breast, liver, and colorectal cancer.
🌿 It contains a probiotic fiber, which helps improve gut health and digestion and encourages healthy bacteria and a good gut biome, which is incredibly important for all aspects of health!
πŸ„ It's a great immune system stimulator, helping with colds and flus, especially as its anti-microbial and anti-viral.
🌿A study done on mice noticed that mice taking turkey tail extract were able to more effectively exercise, exercise for longer, and have stronger muscles!
πŸ„ It's beneficial for diabetes and those with high blood sugar, because it helps remove excess glucose from the blood.
🌿 It also shows promising support for helping those with chronic fatigue syndrome!
πŸ„ And on top of all those, turkey tail has anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties!

πŸ’š These are dual extraction tinctures, which means they went through both an alcohol extraction and a hot water extraction so all the beneficial compounds would be leeched into the liquid! Some medicinal components contained in the mushroom are soluble in alcohol, and others in hot water. So both are necessary! πŸ’š

Purple Dead Nettle!

One of the first plants to come up in the spring, this little guy has way more to offer than you first think! Though it's called "nettle", it's actually a kind of mint and has no sting. However, like stinging nettle, it has antihistamine properties! So this is a great herb for seasonal allergies and to help calm down an overactive immune system! If you're going through a cold or flu, this herb can also help kick your immune system into gear and help you power through!

This bitter herb is also great to aid in digestion and to relieve constipation, and is even a gentle nervine! Meaning it's great to help gently relieve stress and calm down your nervous system.

You can use this herb in tinctures, teas, and even salves! It's even good topically for its anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial action!

How would you best use this lovely herb in your life? πŸ˜πŸ’šπŸŒΏ

The chickw**d is growing prolifically this time of year!

This little w**d makes a lovely salad green, but it also has some great medicinal benefits! This herb is very cooling and moistening, so it works perfectly with all sorts of hot, itchy, dry skin or throat conditions. You can use a poultice for eye conditions like pink eye, or use it in a salve for eczema or insect bites, or take it internally for hot, dry, itchy coughs! It's antiviral, good for infections, and helps move a stagnant lymphatic system!

It's also high in nutrients like calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, and vitamin C, and it's been said that taking chickw**d helps your body absorb nutrients better, helping with anemia!
