Flamingo is 75! Opened on Dec. 26, 1946. Flamingo lost $300,000 in its first week and closed two weeks after opening. It reopened March 1, 1947. Biggest myth: That it was named after Bugsy’s girlfriend (Virginia Hill) whose nickname was “Flamingo.” Just a coincidence. pic.twitter.com/hi4YyF2xwd
