Alcott’s Attic is an independent, novel model bookstore. They sell a curated collection of books made available through various pop-up locations throughout Metro Detroit. In addition to their in-stock inventory, we sell any book your heart desires through our full catalog (check it out on their website)!

They also carry unique book-themed sidelines including toys, tea, and gifts. Our shop is woman-owned and family-operated. They are proud to be your friendly, neighborhood booksellers!

Note: They have moved! Find them inside the historic Park Shelton located across the street from the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Rolling Rabbit Books is a woman-owned bookstore dedicated exclusively to literature for children and teens, located in the heart of downtown Byron Center, Michigan. They are passionate about curating a selection of books that allows every child to see themselves represented in their pages.

In addition to new and gently used books, they carry art supplies, puzzles, stickers, Jellycat plush, open-ended toys, and classic rolling rabbits (of course)! Owner Gina Rabitoy is an illustrator and a writer hoping to one day create her own picture books! She opened Rolling Rabbit Books in August of 2023, and running this store is a lifelong dream come true.

Definitely check out this super cute bookstore!

Literati Bookstore opened in 2013, and their goal is to help people find books that change lives. They were also selected as the 2019 National Bookstore of the Year! Literati was founded and opened in March 2013 by Hilary and Michael Gustafson as an independent, general interest bookstore with a brick and mortar presence in Ann Arbor.

Literati opened in the hopes of enhancing the vibrant downtown culture and arts scene. Its original aim was to be a lively bookstore — a welcoming place where book lovers could go, talk, and interact with each other through author readings, book clubs, poetry nights, and more. Above all, Literati believes that the right book can change a person’s life for the better.

aMaizing BookBee opened fairly recently in December 2022! They offer both new and used books of all genres. They also sell Myra bags, and have several local authors that they feature. They also feature artwork by local artist, Julie Abbott Art, and have candles and waxmelts by Recovery Candle Co.

They also have hosted numerous book signing events with local authors, book clubs and open mic night for writers and poets! Definitely stop in to check them out and ask about their upcoming events.

Bookmarks opened in April 2023 and they hope to bring the joy of reading to downtown Midland with a wide selection of new and used books, locally made goods and a cozy reading nook. They want their guests to escape the busy world for a bit as they peruse our collection of literature and gifts. Children can also step through our wardrobe into their “Little Narnia” children’s area and browse books or make a bookmark of their own!

Definitely stop by and show some love to this store!

Fine Print is a family owned store that has been open since 2021, and they have a dedication to spreading literacy and inclusivity. They sell a lot of non-bookish items like candles, stickers, and board games as well as new books!

They host a lot of events as well, like author signings and book launch parties. Definitely stop by to learn more and pick up some bookish candles!

The Bookman is celebrating their 50th store anniversary this year! They opened in 1974 and love being part of Grand Haven's creative crossroads in Centertown. They host several book clubs, have a new poetry group starting this month, in addition to their monthly Kid's Second Saturday Storytime and Craft with local authors and teachers. They also have live music events as often as possible (they just hosted our first candle lit concert, which was amazing!).

They regularly invite authors to read and sign their books in store, and include many local authors on their bookshelves, and love being able to showcase local artists' work on their walls all year. They sell both new and used books, have a dedicated children's literature room and carry many gift items that include Michigan or book themed puzzles, tee shirts, candles, toys, and games.

Definitely swing by if you’re looking for a well established bookstore with wide selection of items and books!

Since 1982, Crazy Wisdom Bookstore has served as a center of information in the subjects of holistic health, bodymind therapies, psychology, Buddhism, alternative spiritual practices, spiritual development, and consciousness. This store is definitely unlike anything you have visited in the past! They have a big selection of new books, as well as items like crystals, tarot cards, beads, candles, and more!

Definitely stop by and check out this truly unique bookstore!

Gilbert and Ivy was founded in 2021 with a focus on service, literacy and the arts. Named after a tuxedo cat (Gilbert) and a sassy Golden Retriever (Ivy), they service the cute little Village of Vicksburg. New books, educational toys, games and puzzles line the walls and fill the shelves.

Being located in small town, partnerships with other businesses and outside events are a key component of their business. They have a nice selection of goods from local sellers. Definitely try to stop in to say hi and meet their team, or even catch them at one of their events!

Flyleaf is an independent bookshop, bistro and bar. Their three-story experience is meant to inspire and nourish your mind and spirit.
