All of our families get busy and forget simple things like taking out the trash...the Chore Buddy is
I’m a retired military service member, a husband and father of two young kids ages 5 and 1. And this is the story of the Chore Buddy™ and my family’s inspired innovation
After years of moving from place to place my family had come to accept forgetting trash day as a part of our life because it always seemed to be on a different day where ever we moved. After we retired from the military our famil
y noticed that we still forgot trash day from time to time and so did our neighbors. One day I was pulling out of our drive way when I saw all of the neighbor’s trash cans lined up along the curb…with my son in the car, ready for daycare, I realized that we would not make trash day again. That day I was talking with some friends at work and realized that missing trash day was something that almost everyone can relate to. With two young kids we have experienced what it means to have a trash can full of diapers sit in the garage taking up space for another week and creating …well, a stink! I began to toy around with ideas that would help my family remember. After many different concepts that didn’t work, such as email alerts, calendar reminders, a schedule app, and others, I came up with the Chore Buddy™. A simple visual alert that I could place on my refrigerator that would let me know that “today is trash day”. My wife was very supportive of the inspiration and thought it would be a great way for other families to remember trash and recycling day as well. Just this last year we finished up all of our hard work and now the Chore Buddy™ is something we want to bring to you as both a useful reminder but also as great story. We hope you not only purchase and appreciate your own Chore Buddy™, we also hope our story inspires your family to do great things
