“The [Women’s Leadership Cohort] has come at such a tender time for me...these women have come alongside me, prayed for me, and encouraged me. Such a fierce strength has come with that. We can share the hard stuff. We're in this together and we're investing in not only our degrees, but in each other's lives.”

Mark your calendars for next Monday, November 20 to hear about the vision behind our new Women’s Leadership Cohort and the camaraderie that comes from studying alongside others in a cohort community from Vivian Mabuni (), current student, founder of the Women’s Leadership Cohort, member of the Seminary’s Board of Trustees, and host of .

This will be the first episode in a series featuring the women leaders in this special cohort, hosted by Elisa Morgan (), Denver Seminary Board of Trustees president, alumna, and host of the and podcasts for .

Favorite photo of the weekend. She was 13 when I scribbled out the domino vision to help raise up the next generation of APIA Christian women leaders.

She has watched firsthand over the years all the prayers, wrestling, tears, joys, concerns, and struggles.

Now it’s her faith and prayers that God has used to help encourage me to not give up.

We prayed and so many people rallied this weekend and yesterday I watched in awe as she shared and helped lead us all.

Many more photos and thoughts to come but I can’t see my screen through the grateful tears.

I never want to forget this moment.

Someday is Here.

God designed marriage for something bigger than us.

Good communication and strong marriages don't just happen. They require intentional investment and focus. The marriage conference is a wonderful way for you and your spouse to get away and reconnect.

Darrin and I are headed to the east coast this month and next! (Hope we catch some fall leaves 😍🍁🍁🍁)

Please let me know if you'll be attending either of these events.

Decided for now to keep IG off my phone post sabbatical. Using my iPad to access IG every now and then.

Sharing an amazing "only God" praise. Just look at this photo of the first Womens Leadership Cohort.

When God gives visions and dreams He often places the same desires in others.

This group of phenomenal women is one of the biggest highlights of this past spring and summer.

The group started in August embarking on a three year MA in Biblical Theological Studies adventure. The generosity, laughter, support and camaraderie is unmatched.

What joy to watch God bring just the right people together at just the right time.

Tomorrow is my parent’s 60th wedding anniversary. My parents, sister, and our family will celebrate this milestone this coming weekend. Mom and Dad want the grandkids to hear about their family tree. So we will spend extra time hearing their stories, asking questions, and learning about history from their experiences. Any advice on how to capture all that’s shared? Questions to ask? Ways to honor them?

Darrin took this breathtaking photo last night in our backyard.

God is the Master Weaver who brings people together at just the right time. Loved catching up with so many at the wedding and reception. So many photos I forgot to take because the conversations were so rich.

Greatest speaking honor in my life. So humbled and grateful for the invitation to be the 2023 commencement speaker yesterday.

The day was so full I didn’t have time to take many photos. A special thank you for those who prayed 🙏😊.

Couldn’t hold back tears as I watched each of the 2023 graduates cross the stage to receive their diplomas. The cheers and support from family and friends filled the sanctuary. The entire faculty surrounded the graduating class and prayed at the end. What a beautiful, powerful, and memorable celebration!

My respect and admiration runs deep for the staff, faculty, and fellow Board members at DenSem. And especially for President and VP of Academic Affairs, Academic Dean, Dr. Don Payne.

Finished my first semester as a transfer student and look forward to the day when I finally finish my degree.

Congratulations class of 2023! Keep shining bright for our King.

Highlighting another amazing Asian American small business for

My long time friend, , is the owner of the fabulous online store (go follow this account 🤩).

I use Tricia’s peppermint lip balm EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. It’s so smooth and moisturizing!! Hand poured, high quality, lasts a long, long time—-seriously my favorite 😍!

Tricia is creative, thoughtful, and kind. She is a gifted leader and a woman of excellence and integrity. (I wrote about her in ! Check out page 82 😊).

I’m smiling thinking about you all knowing Tricia and supporting her small business!

Happy !!! Highlighting some favorite small businesses owned and operated by talented Asian American women.

First up: (go give her a follow!)

If you’ve ever noticed and admired my EZER necklace that I wear just about every day, it was gifted to me years back (and still looks brand new because 14k gold!) by my dear friend, . Amber and Amy are long time friends from UCLA! Go Bruins!

I met Amy after all these years at the Redondo Beach conference and we made the connection of the necklace and Amber. And my new favorite earring are created and designed by Amy. They are lightweight and just the right size (see photo).

Amy and her husband Eli also make the most DELICIOUS lilikoi butter (Eli’s grandma’s recipe). Perfect for charcuterie boards, drizzling on homemade bread, crackers, ice cream!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND 🤩

Love promoting great women doing great work!!

Powerful days here in Franklin, TN at the sitting under the teaching of some of the finest theologians and scholars in the land. Relished the deep dive into the Bible and meeting inspiring women doing great kingdom work all over the country.

Thrilled to announce a new women in leadership cohort opportunity with (cue all the confetti 🎉)!!

When God wants to see something happen He often places similar dreams on the hearts of several people. I’ve been dreaming of seeing women formally trained in biblical and theological studies and turns out has, too. We are excited to link arms with Denver Seminary as we put together cohorts of women who will go through a three year MA in Biblical Theological Studies. Mostly online with a couple weeklong intensives at the Denver Seminary campus.

Just the right people at just the right time for purposes beyond what we can see.

As they say, “Aslan is on the move.”

24/04/2023

This phrase: “trust God in the unfolding” dropped into my mind when my spiritual director asked me what God had been teaching me over the last year.

What does it look like to not run ahead of God and to not drag my feet?

What are the places where He is opening doors?

Where are the necessary endings?

Who are the people, situations, and opportunities that are clearly God-orchestrated?

God is trustworthy.

His timing is perfect.

He sees the end from the beginning.

His purposes are and will be accomplished.

How does this phrase land with you?

“Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith.” (Heb 13:7)

In the margins of my Bible I have listed out the names of the women who have invested into my spiritual growth and development. .lillestrand has been both a friend and mentor for 35 years.

What a gift to travel through the seasons of life and ministry and finally be in the same country and time zone and same state within driving distance!

And what does it say when we arrive wearing the same fun jacket in different colors from Nordstrom Rack 🤣!

Who do you have written on the margins of your Bible? Who has your name written in theirs?

What. A. Night.!!We gathered with 30 AAPI Pastors and leaders from churches all around Southern California. Some long time friends and some brand new!

Byron and Joanna open their home and hosted us with an over the top scrumptious meal.

We connected, brainstormed about the unique challenges AAPI marriages and families face, and we dreamed about ways to resource Asian American marriages and families. What an insightful group.

Heart and tummy still full. Expectant for what God is doing and excited to continue linking arms with these amazing women and men.

Happy birthday to Darrin!!

Loved by God. Loyal to family. Faithful husband. Involved dad. Fixer of everything. Grower of gardens. Fun and passionate. Smart and thoughtful. Prayer warrior. Artistic. Strong. Imperfect. Saved by grace.

Darrin’s not on social media. If you’d like to leave him a bday greeting I’ll pass it along to him. 😊

Let’s celebrate good men.

Welcome to my world. I’m working out my brain and going to bed tired each night, but in a good way. Haven’t engaged in prolonged scholarly reading in a long time. Baby steps and lots of coffee. And the hefty Stanley cup keeps me hydrated and taking regular breaks. 🤣

Loving this season of being a graduate student again. And also battling my own insecurities and internal fears. I love the posture of doing my “reasonable best” taught and encouraged by the faculty and staff at . Taking that phrase and working to instill into life beyond school. How are things in your world?
