Rotary Club of Walsall Saddlers
Walsall Saddlers Rotary meet on Tuesday evenings 7.00pm at Walsall Golf Club, Broadway, Walsall
Walsall Saddlers are extremely proud to be recognised for their work towards eradicating polio from the planet. They have been awarded the Fraser Dukes Trophy for their continuing support for the End Polio Now Project. Since the projects inception in 1984 over 1 Billion children have been immunised by Rotarians across the World and the project has reduced the worldwide incidence of polio by 99.9% from over 350,000 cases per year to less than 50. Rotarians fully understand the difficulties in getting the job done but their promise to the children of the World to eradicate this terrible disease from the planet once and for all is always the incentive driving our efforts.

Concerned about the environment? Why not volunteer and help plant trees in Walsall.
Site visit to local canal project. Members of Saddlers met with members of the Paddock Active Climate Change Group to look at partnering with them in their work with the Canal & River Trust on a section of the Rushall Canal in Walsall which they have adopted. In particular the club are looking at planting apple trees along the tow path as the second phase of a linear orchard which when completed will extend the whole length of the canal between lock 7 at Walstead Road, Walsall to the moorings at Rushall Basin. Pictured (right) is Rotarian Paul Daniels with the 3 Paddock members who are spearheading the project. We are always looking for volunteers to help with this project. If you are interested contact the Walsall Saddlers Rotary at [email protected]
Ashley Gray was privileged to be invited to a celebration of talented entrepreneurs of South Asian Origin hosted by our own Rotarian Pam Sheemar and Nat West Bank. A great afternoon of story telling and entertainment. I even got to discuss Rotary with a few during the Networking session and after the event.
LEST WE FORGET. Members of Saddlers Rotary at the Remembrance Sunday Parade at the Walsall Cenotaph.
Had a great evening at Bloxwich Phoenix's Annual Children in need auction held at Linden House, Wolverhampton. Pictured here are members of Saddlers, Aldridge and Walsall Rotary Clubs.
Walsall Saddlers Rotary are very proud to sponsor one of our local junior soccer teams, Essington AFC Cobras U15. Saddlers purchased a full set of kit for the team who play in Division 3 of the Walsall Junior Youth Football League.
The members of Walsall Saddlers Rotary Club and their families are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the King and all the members of the Royal family at this very sad time.
Queen Elizabeth was not only a great monarch and stateswomen but a role model to women all over the World. In particular her service to the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth was given without fear or favour and truly epitomises the Rotary motto ‘Service above Self’
Queen Elizabeth always upheld the highest standards in public life whether in her ambassadorial role or as patron to the many charities and good causes she was so passionate about. Her deeply held views on behaviour and standards are those held by Rotarians all over the World illustrated in Rotary’s 4 Way Test – in everything we think, say and do; is it the truth; is it fair to all concerned; will it build goodwill and better friendships and will it be beneficial to all?
Our sincere condolences go out to King Charles III and the Royal Family as we share in their grief and the grief of the Nation. Queen Elizabeth was truly an outstanding person and a beacon that will continue to shine on all humanity. May she rest in peace.
