What a great night! I cannot be more grateful to the New Rochelle Council of the Arts for extending me the honor of showing my artwork on the walls of the New Rochelle City Hall Rotunda, as part of their “Latine Lens” exhibition for Hispanic Heritage Month! Thank you Julie Cousens for thinking of me for this opportunity and Valenzuela for curating a beautiful exhibit! If any of you have a chance, please get over between 9am & 5pm Monday-Friday for the coming month, and check out all the amazing pieces by so many talented artists!

Too brilliant not to share!

Yes, sometimes it is a memory that reveals our trauma, but so often it’s the way we react to others that’s colored by our wounds bleeding out.

“✨ Reflecting on my journey of self-compassion ✨ Every night, before I close my eyes, I ask myself a simple but powerful question: ‘Have I been nice to myself today?’ It’s a moment of introspection, a chance to confront the self-judgments, self-critiques, and insecurities that might have crept into my day. It’s a reminder that I have the power to choose kindness, even towards myself. 🌟💕

In this fast-paced world, it’s all too easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of expectations, comparisons, and endless to-do lists. But tonight, as I take a deep breath, I choose to shift my focus. I choose to embrace my opportunities for growth and self-kindness.

Instead of dwelling on my perceived flaws, I’ll celebrate my unique strengths. Instead of replaying my mistakes, I’ll learn from them and move forward with grace. Instead of comparing myself to others, I’ll honor my own journey and progress.

I’ll treat myself with the same kindness and compassion that I extend to others. I’ll embrace my imperfections and recognize that they are part of my beautiful, evolving story. I’ll cherish moments of self-care, nurturing my mind, body, and soul.

So tonight, as I lay my head down, I’ll go to sleep knowing that I am actively choosing to be kinder to myself. And with each new day, I’ll continue this journey of self-love and self-acceptance, because I deserve it. 💖✨

I couldn’t let end without posting this. For some reason, this seems to be a controversial topic… but for me, it gets more and more clear with every year that passes. I’m to have been raised in a family of people who are of their , but this is still a conversation that we need to keep having, keep deepening, and keep expanding as a community!

Happy Sunday! It’s always a good day for a warm and a little and !

☀️

19/10/2022

This month has been filled with so much ! It makes me remember how much I loved this time of year when I was younger… the start of a new school year - new goals, new adventures… the holidays soon to come with their family get-together s, great food and along breaks… and the perfect weather in New York - Crisp but not cold! As I got older, somehow the seasons seem to have started blending together more and more… as cold nights turned to warm nights turned to cold days and then somehow, another year’s passed! I’m 42 now… and I’m learning to slow down - to enjoy each season - to play a little while the time passes and hopefully slow it down a bit! I still have so much more to learn and so much growth to go but I’m grateful for a moment to take the season in!

⏱ How do you slow down time to keep the days, months and seasons from blending together?

16/10/2022

is such a magical time of ! Leaves changing… seasons changing… leaves us asking ourselves, how are we changing? What can I make to help me easier? To be more ? To experience more ? What can we do to be better to one another? This fall, in what ways can I rise? How can I elevate?

🍂This fall, how will you rise?
🍁How will you elevate?
🍃What will you change?

I figured I’d post it though because is also national literacy month! Health literacy is all about having what you need to make effective health-related decisions, and that includes engaging in activities that promote and !

🧘🏽‍♀️ What do you do to stay ?

08/10/2022

So much of is about having the space to listen to ourselves and sort through all of the thoughts going through our minds and feelings going through our hearts. The best way to do that, is often to find a beautiful place and just take a breath.

🧘🏽‍♀️Where do you find your calm?

Photos from Dinorah Nieves, PhD aka Dr.D's post 04/10/2022

is about being able to identify and manage our own emotions while still being present and respectful toward (but not responsible for) the emotional experiences of others! Building that capacity is hard and the work never ends… the deeper you dig, the more you find! It’s tough to face our struggles, to own our growth, to love ourselves and one another better… never ever did I imagine that I would find such an extraordinary partner to do this work with… to challenge me, to praise me, to push me, to move and motivate me… to support me and be silly with me… Eduardo Reed, you have made me more emotionally intelligent with every day that goes by, with every disagreement from which we recover, with every adventure on which we embark… through communication and love, intimacy and trust, laughs and tears, and mostly just the humility and faith to grow as we go!!!! Thank you! Happy national month!
