Farewell to My Readers -

"It is with many mixed emotions that I must share something important: This will be my last article for a very long time - possibly forever. With the exception to book-related obligations, I will no longer post any articles. My promise to release one article per day for the past couple of weeks has been fulfilled, and it marks the completion of a notable chapter in my life. My days as a writer were dwindling, and I've known that today would mark the last day of that chapter of my life for a long time.
Before I discuss what's next for me, I want to sincerely thank everyone that has taken the time to read anything I've ever published. From the countless DMs showing support to the phone conversations, the opportunity to spark an interest in various topics was an honor and a privilege. As a child, I never imagined that my mother requiring me to write in my journal for 30 minutes a day would lead to the most fulfilling lifestyle I could imagine. From standing on the ice with the Milwaukee Admirals as a teenager to landing a dream job that had hundreds of applicants, writing has been a magical tool that opened magical doors.
I never remember "wanting to be a writer" per se. It sorta just happened. In school, it's something I found easier than math, science, or anything else. Since then, it has carried me around the world. From one flight to the next, my ability to express my thoughts, feelings, and emotions with writing has led to many experiences, relationships, and memories that I otherwise would've never received. For that, I want to thank all of you. Your receptiveness to things I've shared has gifted me something I'll never be able to repay.
Writing is in my DNA, and it's something I suspect I'll continue to do in private. However, I can unequivocally say that my days of publicly sharing articles and writing new books (excluding manuscripts that are already complete) are over. I've known this day was coming for a long time, and this is my last article.
One day my children may ask about my greatest accomplishments as a writer. The answer will be easy: My greatest accomplishment as a writer was sparking friendships, relationships, and family bonds with international friends that I otherwise would've never experienced. Being a writer has fostered relationships in my life that my other strengths and weaknesses weren't always able to sustain. I'm eternally grateful that I've had a skill that peaked curiosities, opened personal relationships, and efficiently acted as a crutch for my shortfalls.
I know many of you are rightfully wondering what's next for me.
The answer: "Many changes." You shouldn't start a new chapter in your life with the same mindset you had in the previous one. You wouldn't watch a Stephen King film with Disney expectations, so you shouldn't start new chapters of your life with old approaches. I've radically restructured my online presence, and I'll continue to refine important decisions as I move forward.
With only a few exceptions, I've removed my entire biological family from access to my personal social media accounts. You don't see eagles flying with crows, and life's too short to let our flight paths be lowered to the standards of small-minded people. It is no longer enough to be a silent supporter or ghost follower. It is no longer okay to speak your support without following it with action. I want my next journey to exclusively include the people that have openly supported me over the years without fear of judgment by other people. Although I won't be writing articles anymore, AndrewLejon.com will remain active (and will soon undergo a radical transformation), my Instagram will remain public (), and this page will still exist.
To my international friends that have continuously advocated for the removal of certain toxicities from my life and nurtured my strengths: Thank you. Your support over the years has been heard loud and clear, and my post-writing career will reflect what all of you have suggested for a long time. From Castleford to Dubai and everywhere in-between, the broad advice I've received from my supporters has always remained consistent and unanimous. To everybody else, thank you. Whether you've read something I've published in secrecy or made it be known, your support has been appreciated. It didn't go unnoticed.
In the words of Squire Bill Widener: I did what I could, with what I had, where I was. Farewell to my readers, and I hope to see you on the other side as a viewer.
The time has come.
I feel my job as a writer is complete.
My job is done.
And as always, stay blessed."
