German at Amherst College

This is the official page for the German department at Amherst College.

The German department offers courses in both the German language and in German culture and literature. In addition, we support a variety of activities that help to increase familiarity with German culture, such as our renowned film series, guest speakers, the German residential section in Porter House, a weekly German-language lunch table and weekly "Kaffeeklatsch" evenings at Porter House.
