Specializing in progressive house, techno, tech house, melodic techno, deep house and house music, internationally renowned DJ G @ T has EDM roots going back to the '90s. Originally from Australia's bustling music hotbed of Melbourne, G @ T has been a respected and well-loved DJ at bars and clubs in Cadiz, south Spain, for several years now. He is on the 6n4 Productions music label.

G @ T's music has been described as partly old-school, partly cutting-edge. Building modern melodies atop strong, pre-dubstep foundations, his tracks appeal to both new fans and veteran electronic music enthusiasts.

Asked to describe his style, G @ T writes, “It depends on the song, but in general to me the timbres/texture are a mix between techno/tech house and breaks with a progressive house arrangement or, other tracks have a straight (verse, chorus, break, chorus, outro etc) house arrangement.”

While G @ T spends plenty of time at his digital audio workstation, the bulk of his artistic output is onstage before jumping audiences. It makes sense, therefore, that he puts the live experience of the fans before anything else.

“The main mission of my music is to make you move your body,” writes G @ T. “I try to incorporate different textures and sounds that can sound uncomfortable at the time (tension) but result in a good sensation (release).”

Another important facet of music by G @ T is a running thread of analog instrumentation. He has called his music, “groove, movement, shuffle, and lo-fi sounds meeting more modern sounds.” The contrast of these sonic characters played against one another yields bright, high-impact songs fans love to hear from the first press of 'Play.'

“The interface between the two worlds inspires me,” G @ T says of this. “For example, old tape-machine textures against digital synth sounds. The same with tempo and rhythm. I try not to have a 'perfectly straight', lifeless beat in order to give a more human feel (juxtapose electronic 1's and 0's with a living audience). Obviously, the main rhythm section is doing its job well, but it's not an exact copy. On some tracks this can create a mild uneasiness that I get off on!”
