Beadweaver’s will NEVER charge you credit card fees! I think it’s distasteful. Here’s why…
1: It is a rip off. Most small businesses use square. If I tap, dip, or swipe a card I pay 2.6% + 10 cents per transaction. Most credit card processing companies charge in the 2.60% to 2.75% range for in-person transactions. So businesses who are charging you 3% (or more) are making money off you.
2: Wanna know another way it’s a rip off? Business owners are trying to throw pity parties for themselves over the credit card fees when they claim they are “loosing” money in the fees. What they aren’t telling you is that the fee is a business deduction. We get to write if off our taxes. And when you pay the fee for them? I guarantee they are still writing the fees off on their taxes even though it should only be a deduction if they are the one’s paying it. So they get to double dip.
3: A lot of business owners want to get you to pay cash so they can keep it off the books and this is a way to pressure you into doing it.  Which is very uncool.
4: It’s just totally distasteful! You shouldn’t have to pay a fee for the privilege of doing business with me. It is me who is privileged to have your business and I appreciate it!
Pardon my small rant here but I am fed up on this and I hope you are too! It's so manipulative! I've been thinking about this for a while and had to say something about it.

Arts at Hayfield organization to host Homespun Holidays Craft Show
at Penn State Wilkes-Barre

100+ crafters will display and market original artwork and more
at the campus on Sunday, Nov. 5

Members of the community are invited to attend the 33rd annual Arts at Hayfield Homespun Holidays Craft Show on Sunday, Nov. 5, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. inside Penn State Wilkes-Barre’s Student Commons Building and Athletic and Recreation Building. The event will feature more than 100 crafters who will display and market artwork, jewelry and more.

Those in attendance are also invited to experience the Andrea Doria: Dive to an Era exhibit in the campus Friedman Art Gallery inside Nesbitt Academic Commons. The exhibit features a collection of items recovered by internationally recognized scuba diver Gary Gentile on his more than 200 dives to the historic Andrea Doria shipwreck. Gentile has recovered dishes, cups, glasses, plates, jewelry, ceramic panels created by internationally known artist Romano Rui, and more. The exhibit runs through Nov. 30.

The requested donation for the Homespun Holidays Craft Show is $2. Admission is free for children under 18 and Penn State students with valid student IDs.

Since its founding in 1984, Arts at Hayfield members have pursued a mission of promoting the arts for all members of the community to experience and enjoy.

The nonprofit organization strives to provide opportunities for local performers, musicians, crafters, artists, and artisans and continues to form networks of individuals who are interested in helping to promote the arts.

Arts at Hayfield regularly donates to public media resources and arts organizations such as WVIA, F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts, NEPA Chamber Music Society, Back Mountain Memorial Library, and the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Friedman Art Gallery, in addition to awarding annual scholarships to Penn State Wilkes-Barre students who express interests in the arts.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre provides a Big Ten education with all the advantages a small campus has to offer. Students can choose the degree plan that’s right for them, whether that’s two years at home and two years at another campus to finish one of Penn State’s 275+ degrees, or all four years at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Eighty-seven percent of students receive financial aid, including scholarships. Students will find caring faculty, undergraduate research opportunities, and experienced advisers to prepare them for the careers they want.

The campus offers eight bachelor’s degrees and four associate degree programs, including the only 4-year accredited surveying engineering program in the Commonwealth, one of just 25 in the entire United States. Started to meet the needs of the anthracite coal miners in the area, Penn State Wilkes-Barre continues to serve the community through the addition of a new bachelor’s degree in project and supply chain management as well as a minor in game development.

How can it be the end of August already??? Looking forward to seeing you all next Saturday at the amazing Bloomsburg ArtFest in downtown Bloomsuburg (by the fountain). The location has changed sightly from previous years. We are still on the street with the fountain but on the opposite side of the fountain (heading in the direction of the river). If you go to where the show always was you can't miss it, you'll just have to cross the road. I believe my new space is in front of the library. Hope to see you there! 🥰

I have to cancel on Lewisburg this weekend! Please read... 🙁 I have been dealing with some health issues for the past few months and unfortunately they are making me unable to be at the show this weekend. I've had a few tests but nothing showed up and I am having more tests. But until I get this under control it would be extremely difficulty to be at a show. It completely SUCKS and I am as disappointed as you are. At this point I am calling the start of the year a do-over and my plan is still very much to be at Verona Park 4 weeks.
In the meantime, here is my plan, jewelry-wise. I have some new things made for you (not as much as I hoped) but I do not have the Etsy listings done. The photographs are taken, but not edited and I have to write the actual listings both of which take some time. I will be working on that and as soon as I have it all up I will send out an email. In the meantime I do have quite a bit of jewelry online now. I was REALLY looking forward to this show and I am SO disappointed to have to cancel! 😞
