My name is Addie. I live in Southern California and work as a music teacher. I love to eat and want to be as healthy as possible while still enjoying it!
Hi, I’m Addie and I have been on a journey to create a healthy lifestyle of eating. One of my husband’s and my favorite activities whether we are on vacation or just here in LA is going out to eat to experience new flavors and awesome vegetarian food. It is exhilarating and exciting to eat amazing new foods! Because I want to be the healthiest person I can be, I’ve changed what I am putting into m
y body. I am mainly focused on plant based food and add some fish and limited dairy into my diet. I am learning and growing every week to find out what works best with my system. I am on this journey to not only be healthy but still love and feel indulgent about food. I started this page to share my experiences with cooking and eating food that makes my body feel great. I don’t consider myself a chef who is creating new recipes (yet). I have been collecting recipes and food lifestyle guidelines from various websites and cookbooks and will make some modifications if necessary. I get excited making food and want to share that excitement with you! I have been lucky to have consulted with multiple nutritionists who have helped me plan out what foods are important to add in and cut out of my lifestyle. It was very overwhelming when I started cutting out all of these things like gluten out of my diet. I turned to the Internet and started researching different diets and food blogs and what has worked for other people. Through my research I have discovered many great resources like Gluten Free Diva , Oh She Glows, http://minimalistbaker.com,http://detoxinista.com,https://www.cookingwithplants.com,http://liveenergized.com,http://www.foodmatters.com.au. The list goes on and on. It has been a lot of work and I hope by sharing my experience with you, it will help consolidate much of what’s out there, expose you to these great resources and be a source of support as you develop your own healthy lifestyle. The recipes that I gravitate towards are vegetarian or vegan, gluten free, soy free, sugar free and mostly dairy free. (I have added in grass fed butter (Kerrygold), grass fed yogurt and some goat cheese)
I find that this lifestyle gives me much more energy, more clarity of mind, and has helped temper some health issues I have experienced in the past. Join me on my journey of feeling great, cooking great and of course eating great. After all, Addie eats!!
